    so i just bought a new car...gti vr, speedo sometimes works, on old car everything worked but cluster was a 2.0L, can i just swap gauges between clusters and everything work proper with out issues?

    2.0 cluster rpm's will be off with a vr and i believe speedo too
    N.E.R.D

    my bad, i edited that, i knew swapping the whole cluster wouldnt work, im trying to say if i take the clusters apart, and swap the speedo gauge or tach guage etc will it work properly?

    2.0 and VR6 clusters are not fully compatible. IIRC everything will work except the tach, which will be way wrong.

    Try checking your grounds, and also check the connection with the wiring harness to the cluster.

    2.0 and VR6 are not interchangeable.

    More than likely, the issue is the cluster.
    Mileage follows the cluster, not the car.
