What is everyone's thoughts on shaving the tow hitch cover when shaving the front bumper. Yes or No? I've seen it both ways. Also if anyone has thoughts on painting the mirror bottom covers cw to match the car? Or can photoshop to see what it would look like to have the mirrors all one color, cw.

This is what I was thinking, I just saw most shaved mk6 bumpers I saw kept the tow hitch cover unshaved.

I'm planning on shaving the front bumper, but keeping the tow hook.
Unless someone educates on an alternative tow hook method.![]()

Why is this called "shaving?"
I think it should be called "filling."
I don't see this actually removing anything from the car. If anything, you are adding more-- body filler or whatever is used.
Just wondering what the thought process is here...

Ok, I could see the VW emblem. I agree there.
But, the tow cover, side marker, washer cover, etc...are probably still there, just filled around it-- right? Unless the body guy fabricated a piece of plastic and molded it to the correct shape and then blended it in...

My bageless grille will be here tomorrow and hopefully my car will go to the body shop next week. One question for anyone that's shaved the front bumper what did you do with the maker light once they are shaved and the lines for the headlight washers?
