    broken '92 VW gti =(

I've got a 92 gti 8v. Previous owner had all maintenance documented and had receipts to prove it, I have them somewhere just have to look. I bought the car about 6 years ago with the intention on fixing it up and make it look great but I slowly started to lose interest so its just been sitting in the garage. There is one small rust hole in the back by the hatch, on the right side rear quarter panel and the front fenders but I have the front fenders to fix it. It also is missing the rear seats, headliner, and door cards. Besides that The car is in great shape, carpet looks brand new, no rips in the seats and no cracks on the dash. It has about 100,000 miles on it and still runs great. It has a clean title ready to go.
I was looking around at other cars and was looking to get 2200obo

I'll still cough up $200 for this car, or the collection of parts that it is

I can think of two reasons why he hasn't responded. one being that the ad was posted 8 months ago, and the other being that you're a ridiculous low baller.

have you looked at the pictures?

this car is a parts car at best, AND it doesn't run. You call me a lowballer, I say realist.

would you pay $2200 for it?

I wouldn't pay 2200 for it but if I was the owner I'd rather take it to the scrapyard than sell it for 200. and by the way, it DOES run. Did you read the ad?

Yes I read the ad, but I also read this:

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...gti-wont-start

Yes the car could be scrapped, maybe for more than $200, but not likely with scrap prices the way they are lately.

Around here when you scrap a car, usually you have to tow it in yourself, then they subtract $ for each tire left on the vehicle and then more $ if there is a gas tank left in the vehicle.

if you think that someone that has left a car languish for 4+ years non running, will put the time and energy into scrapping that same car in order to get maximum scrap value, you've thought wrong.

Essentially I'd be hauling this car away AND paying him.

that thread was from ~2 months before he posted the ad, and according to the ad, it does run. he must have figured it out.
kids these days? seriously? I'm done wasting my time.

OP, good luck with the sale. you're welcome for all the free bumps, whether it's still for sale or not.

He's referring to the previous post that he is responding to, in which the poster refers to HIM as a kid...so when he said "seriously?" I believe he was inflecting a bit.
