Cam follower warranty

So I'm almost 100% positive my cam follower is destroyed because i keep getting crazy fuel cuts under load on the highway 5th or 6th gear when accelerating.

I brought my car in to have a few sounds figured out and i asked them to check out my cam follower and the fuel pump. They said they won't check it or replace it unless i have a warning light or i can show them the issue, but since it doesn't happen every time it is near impossible to show them.

what can i do to have them replace the camshaft, follower, and fuel pump? should i call vw themselves instead of dealing with my vw service store?

If your getting fuel cuts, go to a different dealer and explain that when u accelerate the fuel cuts out. Leave it at that. Let them diagnose the issue. Don't mention the follower. That's what I did. All issues were fixed under warranty. If your seeing fuel cuts under acceleration, then they will see that when it is scanned.

even if there's no CEL? but that is a great idea lol

i keep explaining to them what happens cuz they ask. i say there's fuel cuts and their like "whats a fuel cut?" so then i explain how i'm on highway and go to accelerate and it just bucks. so then they tell me they need to see it first before they can do anything, i guess they think i'm lying to get free parts.

They just don't want to do warranty work cause they don't make any money off you for it. Lol. I'd try another dealer if you have one around. If not it may be worth a shot to go straight to vw like you said.

sounds good, they ended up hold my car overnight to fix the brake booster, supposedly ill have it back tm. Said i couldnt get it because of safety hazards.. meanwhile ive been driving it for 3months with the booster leaking air lol they dont believe me.

But i will deff go to another dealer to get a second opinion, and have them diagnose it lol i'll play stupid
