    Ok so I drove about 40 km with the light on.I filled up and I still only put in 47litres...my tank was at 900 km. I could have kept going for a while yet no?

    Did you vent the tank? Old car my light came on and I could put exaclty 55L's in with venting... My '05 TDI Wagon I'll get 60 litres in with venting once the light comes on.

    You've got at least another 100kms once the light comes on if you are only putting in 47L's right to the top.
