Not sure if it's as bad as the trim for my tahoe was to remove, but I picked up one of these http://www.amazon.com/3M-Stripe-Whee.../dp/B00063VT0G Removed the adhesive without messing with the clear coat. attaches to a drill and as long as u dont sit in the same spot with it, it works great. just my $.02

If your manual then you won't get as good as mileage as him cause he has auto. The auto boxes have a longer 6th gear.

Manual will run about 3000-3100rpm at 80mph.
Auto 06-09(non-dsg) will run about 2500rpm at 80mph.

Bigger turbo = later spool so its easier to stay out of boost = better MPGs. There are guys with Big turbos getting 35+ mpg bc the turbos spool so much later.

staying out of boost when accelerating helps MPGs a lot.

This. Though when you`ve floored it, and holding at 20 PSI, gas mileage = ****ty!! Lmfao.

Did some work to my engine bay recently:

    1. Removed oil filler neck.
    2. Painted washer fluid cap black
    3. Installed Forge DV w/ red vacuum hose
    4. Cleaned up a bit to be able to leave hood popped at shows.

Ordered Forge oil and coolant caps, but they accidentally sent wrong finish. Should have those on before Staggered 2012 next weekend. Contemplating JCaps washer fluid cap, but just cant fathom spending $75 on one piece. Just need to order some red silicone hose for dv relocate to match vacuum hose. Thinking of having my dv relocate pipe powder-coated over winter...maybe red...or black. The green on the BFI mount sticks out, but oh well.

Quick Forge DV review: I went for a quick spin after installing to make sure everything was working fine. I did notice that I spooled a tad quicker, and it makes an awesome sound, way better than the sound my Rev D made with the Forge spacer. The install was easy. I used red zip ties to help secure lines from popping off.

    Had this installed:

    http://hpfpupgrade.com/Products/Show...nce+Rail+Valve

I chose the 145 BAR. I felt a difference in acceleration immediately. My boy who is a VW tech was able to get the OEM unit off without removing the Intake Manifold, he then spent about an hour getting the aftermarket unit in. Luckily, he has small hands. If you don`t, you will probably have to remove the intake manifold. IMO, well worth the money if you are tuned Stage 2+ or above.

I hope with time that they firgure out a way to modify the tsi fuel pump. I love the way that the fuel pump upgrade flattens out the tourque curve on the fsi engine.

What would keep someone from changing the Fuel Lobe profile for more fueling? I know price is a factory but at an engineering standpoint?

Didn`t APR bolt in one of thier HPFP`s into the FSI for a stage 3 or 4 build? I could swear Ive seen or read about it somewhere.

Lookin good! Is that a one piece tip rather than the usual dual exit look?

Can you post a pic of that when you get a chance?

Well, as many of you know, and the rest will learn eventually; buying a house and house projects slows down the modding significantly. But here goes.....

Switched to the MRRs earlier this week.

^ Quick cellphone pics taken this morning, pics dont do it justice, the wheels look better in person.

Currently...I am sitting in the Dunkin Donuts next to Level 10 Performance having my valve body upgraded. Talked with Pat (Owner); he drove my car, asked about my upgrades, and even inquired about future upgrades so that he can tailor valve body upgrade to them. He stated that normal turn around time is 3-4 hours. So....I will post a review of the rebuild this weekend. Im so excited that I can finally rip my car and not worry.

On another note, I have decided to downgrade my stereo system as its mighty heavy, and not really needed. Im going to sell my current setup and switch to one 10 or 12 and a small amp.

    List to do before Waterfest:
    1. Remove tailight film and lightly tint with VHT paint.
    2. Touch up Plasti Dip on window trim.
    3. Mount euro plate bracket on front grille.
    4. Fix paint chips.
    5. Clay bar and buff paint.

Let me know if you are heading to Rochester for work or anything and we can meet up. I am rarely near Syracuse myself.

Im Excited that you finally get to rip on your car. You have some self discipline man. It would have driven me crazy not being able to really get on it

Have you ever considered upgrading the tranny cooler?

I have not upgraded cooler yet, and will not. After talking to Pat from Level 10. He informed me that the pump has to work harder to fill the cooler, which causes a negative effect. The upgraded valve body runs at normal temp. O drove about 250 miles today after the rebuild, and am very happy. The car is absolutely better. The power is laid down better. The only negative is that i can feel the shifts a bit more, but im sure thats amplified due to stage 2 mounts.

Worked a bit on the Passat yesterday getting ready for Waterfest.

    1. Finally mounted my europlate frame and europlate.
    2. Touched up a few spots on plasti dip on window trim.
    3. Added some more stickers to rear windshield.
    4. Removed subs and amp.

So I installed my LED interior light kit and license plate lights from Krauto Parts last night. The kit is super affordable, and uses the same lights as many other kits out there. Here are some pics:

As stated, the kit includes all interior lights, glovebox, and license plate lights. He will have a tent at Waterfest, and be offering an awesome special, and one including installation there. Check out his website: http://www.krautoparts.com/#!home/mainPage You can use the Contact link to ask him for deals and prices as I do not want to be made that im advertising. He has some sweet backup LED lights, as well as H& and H11 LED lights that will be available as well. We also developed a kit for Touareg owners out there.

I was the first Passat he did. The website is not updated yet. If you use conatct link and tell him John(Sicktred08fsi) referred you. He will cut you special price and installation deal if you come to Waterfest. I can tell you that kit is super affordable.

Been a busy summer with new job hours, house projects, and trying to make shows. I need to get some great pics of my car..... But look what I got:

Stage 2 kit, 2.5 gallon reservoir, USRT TB spacer, dual nozzle kit. Going to try and tackle this over the fall or winter.

Also, sold my big system. Didn`t use as much and wanted to lighten up a bit. Picked this up at Waterfest:

I originally had a smaller box, but the sub was too deep.

I am trying to find another intake manifold to shave and paint over the winter. Also going to try and dress up the engine bay over the next few months. I would like to paint the valve cover and polish some of the metal.

I am still in the air about the Forge K04 actuator over this winter. Its a lot of work!!!! The water/meth will be a great gain alone.

[QUOTE=SickTRed08FSI;76848993]Well, Stage 1 & 2 tunes definitely make it better. I didnt think my mileage would be this good with K04, but it is.

Thanks. The valve body rebuild is good for 450 HP, and costs $700 installed at their shop. You must bring ATF fluid and filter for them to change as well. I think that once this is done and I add the Mishimoto oil cooler, ill be able to go bigger turbo if I choose. Right now, I wanna see how much I can squeeze outta my K04 setup
Wow only $700 installed that's def worth it!

Are you planning on running a 100 oct file with the meth?

Where did you get your paddle shifters from?

No, with Revo, i simply adjust my timing to accomodate the setup. This is one reason why I love Revo, i can adjust for different variables. I do not want to change tunes, but APR is releasing a more aggressive K04 tune for us here in US. Revo has released an update in Europe as well, but has not made any announcements on US side. With water/meth and more aggressive tune....i may not go bigger turbo. Their v2 K04 file is putting out GT28 numbers, and water/meth will make those numbers even better.

I purchased the paddle shifters from ECS Tuning. I lpid like $120 for them, and wish i hadnt. I use them, but not much. I mainly shift with the shifter. Id rather get the DSG shifter for a little more for what i paid for paddles. It does make my interior look good though.

The front lip and side skirts are Votex. Rear valence is factory. They are just paintmatched.
