    Hi Folks,

Anyone know where I can get the seal for the rear hatch window? I know it's leaking (or maybe the rear spoiler?) because recently when it rained, I was getting water on the small ledge above the rear tail lights, but inside the hatch to body seal. Plus, I stuck a finger in the holes and there was definitely water in there. I know Vintage Rubber sells the hatch to body seal, but not the window seal.

    What to do?

Also, any know where there's a thread that will tell me how to fix my rattle-y hatch! Sucker bounces over every bump it seems.

Are you sure it the window seal? Rattly hatch is most likely caused by the little rubber bumper things. If they are missing or not in there right, water will most likely seep right past the body to hatch seal.

Yea if ur getting water on the shelving above the taillights its definitely the window seal but best way to determine is climb in trunk & have someone spray water on the hatch. Let me know if you find the window seal cause I need one good luck

I believe the OP is in need of a MK2 rear window seal.

I had this problem too and water was coming inside the trunk hatch from the small holes behind the badges.
Also, can leaky window seal could cause water infiltration inside the hatch body?

DougT: You are correct, I have a MK2. It's definitely the window seal or the badges though. I can stick my finger in the holes at the bottom and feel water inside the hatch.

onurB: I actually didn't even consider the badges! So thank you for pointing those out. I'll pop those suckers off (very carefully) and hit them with some silicone sealant. Of course I'd love for it to be nice and simple like that.

As for the rattle-y hatch, I've tried adjusting those rubber feet, but they don't come out far enough for it to fully firm up. And even with them extended, the hatch still rattles, just at a higher frequency rather than a quick thump up and down over bumps.

As well though, I'm getting water inside the trunk, and it's pooling up on the inside right trim piece under the cover for the rear washer bottle, and then getting the carpet wet in the back right corner. Could water be splashing up from the wheel and getting in through there as well?

Grab a bottle of water or a hose (maybe have someone do that), and watch from the inside where it's coming from. Only so many options for water intrusion: hatch seal, glass seal, badges, tail light seals and possibly the washer nozzle up on the pillar.

I can't say I've even seen the glass seal leak.
