My friend thinks his b5 passat is faster then my mkvi GTI

I know this is kinda stupid but it kinda bugs me at the same time. My friend is talking sh*t and saying his 2.8 b5 w/ 5spd and an intake is faster then my stock GTI 6spd. He says the intake shaves a second off the 0-60 and 1/4 time lol..
I said, ok let's take it to the track, but he won't do that.
What would win in a 1/4?

The only advantage i can see the B5 having over your GTI is the 4motion, if he has it.

Unfortunately he doesn't. The intake thing is funny.

The problem is he doesn't read anything about cars and won't listen to anything I say. He also thinks bigger wheels and tires give your car more grip and you can accelerate faster lol...

possibly. fatter tires might have more grip (ie 18x9 vs 18x8) but it wouldnt affect the accel too much if there's still wheel hop. suspension would have to be in too. also, balloons help too kinda.

2.8 V6 Passat is a dog. My old MKIV Jetta VR6 5 speed was faster then them<---174 hp 181 torque<----6.9-7.2 0-60 mph 15.2 1/4.

Your GTI should be low 6 sec range 0-60 and mid 14s 1/4.

Arrange a day at the drag strip, you should take him just fine, but if you are worried get a chip/flash trial for the day...
