Good luck replicating the shot peened finish. I can't recall anyone ever successfully replicating it. There have been rumors here and there, but I haven't seen it.

the clear coat on my RC's is deteriorating and the wheels are starting to corrode. how would I get them restored back to the stock look of the shot peened polish? would powder coating a particular color bring it close?

That's my problem, I have 337 rc's on my gli that I want to restore but the shot peened finish makes it damn near impossible.

I had this problem when I curbed one of my RCs. I ended up selling it and buying a new one. The new ones actually have a slightly different finish. You can almost see the clear coat brushed on.

i wonder if anybody has had them powder coated to look similar. maybe hyper silver with gloss?
is there a way you can strop the shot peened coating off and just polish them?
