Your 10mm mk3 4x100 spacers only work with factory wheels? i don't get why they can't be used on an aftermarket application

Due to the way 10mm spacers must be produced, they all are created with a 45 degree bevel. Not all wheels have that bevel (most if not all factory wheels do). You can check to see if your wheel has the bevel by looking at the hubface of the wheel - it should look like this:

Notice the bevel around the hub area - it should be roughly 3/8" wide.

Oh ok. My aftermarket wheels have that little thing on them, but they aren't hubcentric so I had to buy rings and I don't think it'll work after I put the rings on

I would buy some spacers for my Mk1 in a heartbeat, but my RM's are still in pieces because you guys havent had black bolts in stock since December. In for some spacers if I can finish my wheels before show season is over!

Believe it or not, black RMs are the least popular of all the non-spike bolts we sell.
We'll get more in, but it's lower on the priority totem pole then several other bolts.
    Sorry dude!!

So is there any way you could order me 90 of those bolts? Ill even pay $2 per bolt, id just like to finish my wheels so i can drive my car. Hope thats not too much to ask...if it is, could you point me in the right direction to obtain these bolts elsewhere? Kinda frusterating being the lowest customer on the totem pole if you know what i mean.

    Thanks for the help!

We are unable to place low-quantity orders, but fortunately more bolts are on order.
It will still be 5-7 weeks before they are available for sale, but be assured they are on the way.

Hey, so I'm a bit of a noob at spacers. Could you give me some advice?

I have an '06 GTI with stock Huffs, which obviously means I have 5x112.

I was just eyeing your BFI 10mm spacers 5x100/112, which I would use on my rear wheels.

Just so I'm clear beyond a shadow of a doubt (even though I read the product description), what else would I need for my rear wheels? Am I correct in inferring that I do not HAVE to buy new lug bolts for the rear for a 10mm spacer? These spacers are hubcentric, correct?

    Thanks!

    Hope to be buying soon!

    keerfratiug,

Yes, you will need 5x100/112 spacers. These are dual drilled for both applications.
10mm and higher spacers will require longer wheel bolts- 14x35mm wheel bolts to be exact.
Each wheel bolt listing lists what bolts fit what spacers. See listing here: http://store.blackforestindustries.c...o14x35bas.html

This is kind of petty of me, and for that I apologize.
But why did you guys decide to make 4x100/5x100 spacers, wherein the bolt holes have to overlap like that? Why not stick with 5x100/5x112 like half of your spacers appear to be already, and everyone else does? The bolt holes work perfectly together.

I know you guys say it doesn't affect the structural integrity, and I do believe that, in my brain, but it just feels and looks so wrong. I want to want to buy black forest spacers, since i'm almost definitely ordering bolts from you guys, but I really hate that bolt hole thing. I don't know if it bothers me more that the holes are like that or that I can't figure out why that decision was made, but it's making my spacer shopping more difficult than I wish i was >_<

    Otherwise, I like Blackforest

The 4x100/5x100 bolt holes have to overlap, so that's unavoidable.
Why do we sell both? It allows us to pad our inventory with a product that works on multiple platforms. This way more spacers are available to more people.
There's no sacrifice to 'performance', so it makes sense to produce both- 4x100/5x100 & 5x100/5x112.

All of the 8mm and 10mm spacers that we carry are made to fit OEM wheels only.

    Correct.
They only make up for 2-3mm difference in pattern.
For example: a 5x114 wheel on 5x112 car.
You would need adapters for 5x100->5x112 setup.

We typically recommend using a 40mm length bolt for your application.

35mm length wheel bolts should work.
However, we've had a couple of customers contact us saying that 35mm was too long.
It's unclear exactly what applications have been problematic.
Our 8mm spacers will only work with OEM wheels though.
