My Father and I bought the Bug to get some bonding time in and build a car for my daughter. I'm enjoying it in the meantime, but all work was done by my Father and I.

My daughter Jenn chose the color of the car and decided to name it JennBug.

I'm searching for pics of when I first picked it up and will upload it to this thread once I find those pics.

It used to be primer black when I picked her up with a rough interior and no headliner. There was a huge amount of missing exterior bits and trim. My Father accidently bought the Cal-Look rubbers, but the ones w/ the chrome piping are on the way and will be replaced. My Dad has some experience in painting cars so we painted the car in my Mom's garage. She was pissed that there was some overspray on her nice white "now blue" walls but eventually got over it after seeing the outcome.

Without further ado, here's JennBug (the exterior anyway)...

She'll be going a little lower up front as soon as I get my lowering shocks that will allow me to do so.

This past weekend at Slammed Society in Long Beach with the 1552 bunch.

    Thanks.

They are smoked. Kind of flows well with my all black interior.

Outstanding! Great story (bonding and making the car into an heirloom). More pics please. How long did it take from start to finish?

We got the majority of the work done in about a year with the combination of beating daylight and working our day jobs.

Car sat but was driven occasionally for the next 3 years. I recently just finished rewrapping the interior and putting new door cards in. Lowered it last week on a 2" narrowed beam, Smart Car tires up front, drop spindles, and adjustable spring plates. All in all a little over 4.5 to 5 years in the making.

The blue is a color my daughter chose off of a color swatch book. I don't know the exact name but I have the color code lying around somewhere.

Back in town and will take pics of the interior/engine bay soon.

Until then, here's a pic from a buddy of mine taken at an event here in SoCal.
