    2L 16v mk1 scirocco, on digi
    04-10-2012 07:17 PM #1
So for some time i have trolled here on a regular basis as i have always loved the styling of a mk1 scirocco. Well, i wont be trolling anymore rather posting on the regular as i have finally acquired one!! I have been through 8-10 other vw's prior to getting here an the journey was great but i can see now after driving this thing that i will be here for some time to come.

    Little about the car.

81 model with 153,248 on the body an right about 7k on a 2L 09A 16v swap running on Digi. I am the 4th owner an she runs strong an is a blast to drive. She had one small rust spot that has already been addressed from the previous owner. Other than that one spot.....rust free. Fee dings here an there but i'm having it PDRed. plans are winter respray!!

    down pipe
    ceramic coated header
    ported head
    ported throttle body
    Ported Intake
    cams
    Techtonics chip
    single electric fan new
    2.5" stainless Borla exhaust.
    fk coil overs
    all Poly Bushings
upper and lower strut braces front
    upper strut brace rear
    mk2 big brake conversion
    stainless lines
    usrt short shift
Most of the whole drive train has only 5000 miles on it and is top of the line.
    HID
    yellow e code lights

At the moment i have some ATS type 5's waiting to be applied. Tires should be here tomorrow so i'm hoping to have them mounted an a little lower by the weekend. There really isnt to much to address at the moment other than the dash an steering column bearings. Also for the weekend I will be relaying the HID setup as i dont like the current way it is ran. Well enough of the blah blah blah you guys wanna see it.

you really dont want to ruin the classic styling of that car with those ATS type 5 you have, you should package them up and send them to me.

it is THE best forum on here!!
I have snooped around some of the other ones to get some knowledge about other cars and there is far too much infighting and insulting.
there is no need to slam a person for asking a question.
welcome, cant wait to see the progress of this car

Nice score . Is that the original paint? Looks super clean under the hood. What paint code is that? Interior color? Keeping the tint?

It is indeed the OG paint, not sure of code but I will find out for you. Interior is tan, with coraddo seats. The seats had been died a maroon color as well as the dash pad. It isnt horrible but its not great either. The seats are in good condiition so it isnt something that i am gonna put a huge priority on.

As far as the tint goes i am undecided, i like it because it isnt really dark yet at the same time i am a huge fan of fishbowl

The paint code is LA1V - Sand Metallic

When it comes time to respray i'm thinking along the lines of L96F - Brazil Brown Metallic.
