FS: 1987 Golf GL autox/track car $2k

Listing my 1987 VW Golf GL autox/track car for sale. Asking $1,500 but am open to offers/trades. Car is located in Asheville NC. Not street legal; must be towed.

Engine/Trans (less than 1000 miles since rebuild): - 1.8 8v (GX block/JH head - German) - G grind cam - unknown header - 2 1/2" exhaust to a Supertrapp (includes 12 discs and 2 caps) - Taller 5th gear - K&N drop in - CIS injection - 3 angle vlave job - blueprinted

Suspension: - Front: Koni Sport inserts with eBay sleeves and Eibach 300 lb springs (Konis in 2010) - Rear: Bilstein Sports with eBay sleeves and unknown 450 lb springs (Bilsteins in 2012)

Wheels/Tires: - 14x6 BBS knockoffs with Falken Azenis RT615 195/65/14. Lots of tread left (installed in 2009) - Includes 5 BMW E21 13" basketweaves with bad tires and 4 Spec Racer Ford takeoffs with 12 heat cycles (ran 3/30/2012 weekend)

Interior: - Gutted - Ultrashield driver's seat with 5 point harness - Stock driver's seat with pillar mounted belt - Cluster replaced with a VDO Pro Panel (mechanical gauges) - VDO monster tach - Autopower roll bar (car came with a 6 point bolt in cage but I cut it to access the dash. Remaining cage pieces come with it). I believe this rollbar/cage to be from an MK1 GTi adapted to fit an MK2 since the PO owned and MK1 prior to building this car. Not sure if it will pass any inspection other than an autox.

Exterior: - Needs paint (good from across the parking lot) - Some surface rust starting to come through including interior (1 bad spot on passenger side) - Hatch leaks - No front bumper cover - I believe it was in a front end accident at some point

I also have 2 or 3 boxes of miscellaneous parts including 2 rebuilt axles. I'm sure there is more I am missing.

what keeps the car from being street legal?

Messed up title, no emissions equipment (even a safety inspection checks for the parts and pieces), non functioning and missing lights (the wiring is all there, I think), no horn, windshield wiper switch is broken, etc etc. It's been a dedicated track car since 2000.

The owner of the tow dolly listed above has decided to keep it after telling me I could offer it with my car so its no longer available. I have mounted the SRF tires but it looks like a small spacer is needed to clear the front calipers.
