With the recent uncertainty around the Bahrain GP, I got to thinking, which other countries that host F1 races are dictatorships?

I figured these ones (but correct me if I'm wrong):

    Shanghai (China)
    Sakhir (Bahrain)
    Yas Marina (Abu Dhabi)

I'm pretty sure American fans wouldn't be rushing to Cuba to see a Cuban Grand Prix.

Does it matter that Bernie is making deals with dictators or is it like who cares?

I'd love to go to Cuba. Visit or Cuban GP. I'd be the first to book a flight.

Haven't been there myself but tons of Canadians go to Cuba. I hear that the food is terrible. I'd rather pay a bit more and go somewhere awesome, like Jamaica.

Surely they're not going there by the ton because the food is bad.

People go because it's dirt cheap, with the added benefit of no Americans.

The whole Caribbean is sh!t as far as I'm concerned. There are better beaches in Florida.

Depending on how far south you go, you are technically still in the Caribbean... heck consider Miami to be North Cuba.

I know it's not cool to like Florida (the criminal state) but it's hella easy to get around and every place you go is a recognizable franchise.

I like me some Ft. Myers way more than St. Maarten for instance.

I'm pretty sure the fans can care less about whether the county that is holding the GP is under a dictatorship or not. I mean, do you really believe that even if they were holding a GP where there is chaos, people wouldn't watch it? Fans watch the race to see the race. And how many American fans rush to China/Abu Dhabi/Bahrain to see the GP?

I know at least three countries where "locals" have decided that dictatorships were bad and decided to kick local king, tsar and shah out. We all know how well it all turned out for them.
Taking on them mountains. One hill at a time.
