I am looking for an estimate to re-surface, lighten and balance a VW Fox flywheel.

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a machine shop in the area that could help me out.

    Cheers,
    Chris

talk to the guys at S-K Speed http://skspeed.com (631) 957-9525
their engine shop is in Lindenhurst (long island)

resurfacing on a double cut flywheel should run you about $70, but i don't know what a lightening and balance would be (they're doing the same for a 210mm flywheel for me later this week actually)

if you give them a call, be sure to tell them that Nater sent you. they're the most honest and straight forward guys i've come across in the area, which is why i give them all (like $1000's) of my business.

Great! Thanks for the heads up. I also got linked with FFE Racing in Deer Park - heard of them?

Random fact: I lived in Lindenhurst until I was 5.

I haven't actually... (I had to look up Deer Park on google maps to even see where it is). I'll check them out tomorrow or friday when I head to lindenhurst to drop off a head to get tanked, resurfaced and valve seats cut.

great - thanks! I will check them out.

I'm getting estimates around $200 all said and done - ready to bolt on. Wonder if they can beat that.

I got a 13.5 lb (down from 20 lb) for $80 headed my way - that seems like it should do the trick - I will just have one of these guys double check the balance/resurface it for $20.

And a balance and resurface for $20? That's just crazytalk.
