Last September my engine starting making terrible sounds. It sounded like there were rocks on the pistons along with a weird screaching rubbing sound. Instead of debugging it down to certain bad part, me and my bro decided to swap the engine (we figured it was the cam chaing tensioner, $700 dollar part that may not have been the problem).
So we mounted the engine back in minus some tranny mounts and we're getting ready to put it all back together. I've been brainstorming what needs to be done before we start it up. Its a tiptronic 2.8l 30v with a pes g2 s/c.
So far i can only think of the following. Please point out anything that needs to be done prior to first startup to prevent any engine/transmission damage:
Top fluids:
-Coolant (bleed)
-Transmission fluid (before and after startup)
-Oil
-Steering fluid (bleed?)
-A/C
Install s/c kit (s/c, new injectors, accessory pully)
Reinstall vacuum lines
Reinstall coilpack and wires
Configure transmission cable
Reinstall radiator, fan
Install any and all accessories
Install wiring harness
Any help is appreciated
