There is a shop in mukilteo that does it and their prices are reasonable. They did all 4 wheel centers and center cap rings for 110 out the door. Even gave me touch-up paint, didn't ask for it, and media blasted everything. Really nice and helpful over there, only took them 5 days to get them done for me and I just walked in. click sig link if you want to see their work.

The name escapes me at the moment but they have 2 huge warehouses across the way from each other as they do massive projects for industrial powder coating. So they can do anything you need them to.

Not trying to take anything away from dave, they do good work too!

I believe this was the place I was referring to - don't remember that being their name when I used them a few years ago though, but the pics of their work are the same as before when I researched them before taking my stuff there.

I would have to locate my receipt and check for sure.

    http://www.bulldogpowdercoating.com/contact.html

EDIT - think they changed hands and location slightly - still in Muktown though. Used to be called Production Plating - website is down now so it must've switched over to BullDog - which makes sense why they'd still be using the same pics or work done.

I've had a lot of powder coating done at powder fab in Arlington, Wa. If you're doing black, you can score a discount on fridays or "black fridays". It'll save you some $$$ since everything is getting coated black on fridays. Other colors not so much but they claim to beat competitors pricing, I haven't had to take them up on that. I don't actually know anyone personally there, but I was happy with my wheels and valve cover and other misc parts.

I've had Dave do a few things for me and seen a lot of his work, I would take my parts to him any time.

Powder Coating Inc does excellent work and they have competitive pricing.

Meister powdercoated my engine mounts and did a fantastic job. Take your cover to him.

Dave does some great work and is a true master at his craft. He cares about the work he's doing for your car like it was going on his own car.
Debbie and John are good people over at Powder Coating Inc. their son works there and is a true Euro enthusiast. (races a MK2 out at Evergreen speedway) They will probably move on the price a little depending on the prep work necessary. They have a lot of color and finish options available.
Both great options, can't miss with either one!

I know some good powder coaters, but they have enough to keep themselves busy.

Seattle Powder Coat is a great shop, professional outfit with great finish quality. That said, you get what you pay for.

I used to work for pro-coat in Kent they only do big jobs I believe. We anodized Fikse wheels there. Anodized looks really good too if you are doing aluminum.

probably out of your way but I take all my work to Kens powdercoating. Located in puyallup, wa of 200th. They have a 20ft bay and a gajillion colors to choose from with most of them on pre-sprayed samples. By far the cheapest I have come across as well.

I don't believe they have a website. My valve cover was 40 bucks. Everything I posted up to have done *Valve cover, transmission case, alternator case, oil filter housing, rear motor mount bracket, ect* was under 250 I believe. Way better prices then I was quoted at.

It must be me but I'm not seeing how $120 to powder coat just one valve cover seems outrages. With all the prep and material it sounds reasonable to me.

I would say if all this sounds to much then High Temp paint might just be what you need to use until you can save up or realize it's going to cost you to do the powder coating.

You also might get a better price( what ever you think that is) if you had more than one piece.
This is evident of the price the person quoted for his valve cover shown above.
He had multiple parts so the shop lowered the cost per piece.

Because it IS outrageous. I know paint shops that would paint it for less than $120 & painting should cost at least twice what powder coating does. I've had stuff done at Ken's & that $40 for that guys valve cover is probably close to what they'd charge for it alone. It also matters if prep is included. Pretty much everything that they coat needs to be blasted. Ken's used to charge $1 a minute or $60 an hour for sand blasting. That was a while back though.

I got something powder coated at Class Act Powder Coating in the Portland area, it was $60 bucks which was the minimum they charge, it didn't seem to steep.

Well there you go good choice. You are correct I don't know you so your point is? All I said is I didn't see the price being all that bad. Could it be done cheaper somewhere else? Sure it can, and you where given some exellent recommondations.
Hell I have friends that get things powder coated for $10- $20 bucks if they bring it in when there is a big order going through.
Not anyone can have that because that is from going and making a commitment and using that place for multiple items over and over again.
So get your panties out of a bunch as I wasn't trying to be mean to you just throwing out a different way to go.
Sometimes no matter what you try it just isn't going to be cheap, plain and simple.

Ok Scotty you know damn well down where your at is a bit cheaper than, rake us over the coals King county. I feel bad for the guy's and gal's trying to make a living having to deal with the B.S taxes here.
That and you can just hop across the border and pay no tax.
Oh and how is your new bike going? got any bikes being parted.
