I went this weekend for the first time and I loved it...We spent over three hours talking to the owner of the SLC Super car...I was visiting my best friend from Canada and wish I could do this every weekend.. Here are my pics and movies once I edit a few things...

      Anybody own this GTI??

I'm planning on attending this Saturday with a buddy. Will be my second time going. He & I are planning on checking out the somewhat nearby AllSports Grand Prix for some karting afterwards.
      http://www.allsportsgp.com/

My question is if any of you know how we should kill 3 hours in the area between 9am when C&C wraps up and noon when the karting place opens.

      Thoughts? Thanks!

the karting place is fun times - sometimes the wait for your heat is long if there's a large crowd. don't get frustrated if little kids in superkarts start lapping you haha. hmm to kill 3 hours ... you could just hang out at the pub/coffee shop/farmer's market there, swing by VWoA HQ in Herndon, go to Great Falls Park, swing by Ferrari/Lambo/Maser dealer in Dulles, swing by Lindsay VW in Sterling, check out historic Leesburg, go to the Dulles mall ... not too much else coming to mind at the moment

Grab some food inside at Katie's after you're done with the car show, then head down Georgetown Pike and go for a hike at Great Falls Nat'l Park...should keep you occupied until karting.

Looks like the TrackDaze event is filled for this weekend, but you could always go and hang out there.

I thought that there were more than a few cars that had owners who should have parked in one of the "satellite lots" even though a spot was available on the main drag...the MKVI GTi 2 spots away from a Shelby Daytona was a perfect example of this problem.

Also, the guy who pulled up in a stock tiguan, popped his hood then walked away was absolutely classic!

Overall I had a GREAT time and will definitely go again

maybe he just wanted the tiguan to cool down faster i agree that a lot of cars should be parking in the satellite lots instead of the main lots, but hey, what can you do? sometimes it's cool to see newer stuff park next to classics and vintage.

this weekend's weather looks good so far. i'm probably going to park in the bank or hardware store lot if the turnout keeps growing bigger and bigger

      ::edit::
actually, just noticed - are you talking about that white MK6 GTI that's next to the blue daytona in the pics? if it's the one i'm thinking of, i think an older fellow drives that - he also has a 458 italia that he brings out from time to time

That was the one. If he has a 458 he should understand that those cars need to be front and center.

Also, what was up with the Corvette guys blocking off spaces that were still empty at nearly 9AM?

Haha when i went for my first time on may 5th, i showed up early enough to find one person setting up cones, and i politely asked him if i could park my car (stock 2002 mustang) here or if i should move it somewhere else to make room for the interesting cars, and he said it was fine

I parked at the last spot, next to some 944

Edit: This saturday, anyone wanna check out the great falls park or anything cool afterwards? I figured since im already up there for the show, might as well stay and see what else is up there

No clue really, but the Corvette club is the one that started this gathering so I guess they get some leeway.

I greatly appreciate all the suggestions on how to kill my few hours... thinking we'll try to check out that Udvar-Hazy museum.

Thanks all and see you Saturday! We'll park on the fringes with a Mazdaspeed3 and brand new black Grand Cherokee.

The whole museum is awesome, but when you first walk in and the SR-71 is below you, that's really awesome.

Was the door on this Beryl Green SPG dented in a bit or no?

I think I will have my 85 SPG down and bring it out in a few weeks.
