I can't say I'm surprised. The car sat for 16 years, then I put 13k miles on it in a few months. It's leaking noticeably now, and losing its prime every night.

The plan for this car is to eventually (hopefully sooner than later) turbo it, and not a factory setup. I haven't done enough research to know exactly what turbo I want to run, but I do metal fab for a living, so the options are wide open. Anyway, I say that to get to this... considering the fact that I want to be turbo'd in the next year, what should I do with my leaky pump now? I hope this makes sense... sorry for the open-ended question, but any advice is appreciated.

If you want to end up getting power out of the car, I'd send the pump to Giles at Performance Diesel in Canada for a rebuild. Tell him your plans and he can work his magic for whatever you want. He is the best with IPs. We have a performance rebuilt TD pump from him on our TD (its factory turbo) and it was the best money we spent during the rebuild we did of the engine.
