This is a 2006 Porsche Cayman "S" with 21,382 miles on the odometer. The car is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic with a beautiful offsetting Sand Beige Interior. The car is immaculate; however, this is not just your average Cayman, but rather it is a Cayman S-GTR package.
In 2008, the owner of this car brought it to Farnbacher Loles, a well-known Porsche tuner located in Danbury, Connecticut. While at Farnbacher Loles, the original engine was replaced with a new 997 X51 Engine found in the 911 Carerra "S" which is rated at 385 horsepower as compared with the original Cayman "S" motor producing a mere 295 horsepower. In addition to the engine swap, the tuners at Farnbacher Loles also added a custom exhaust, rear differential, carbon fiber side air intakes, a third radiator, GT3 Front brakes, stiffer shocks and springs, as well as custom wheels wrapped in larger tires. The ride height was also lowered during this tune and the ECU was remapped to yield a more aggressive response. The results of this $50,000 tune is 410 horsepower and a 0-60 time of just 3.9 seconds with arguably better handling than that of a 911 GT3. The top speed of this car is estimated to be 188 miles per hour. The new engine as well as all of the other parts installed during the tune have roughly 12,000 miles on them.
Priced at $65,000, this car is $15,000 less than that of a used GT3 with almost identical performance specifications. This car is the best of both worlds, comfortable enough for the road, yet agile enough for the track without the ostentatious styling typical of a car of this caliber. This is not a car for the faint of heart but it may well be the car for you.
