Good luck with the new one !
See you up at Bear this summer maybe, I still float around up there on occasion.

Gabe & Paul are still around. In fact, Paul moved to Monroe, NY. Bear Mtn is now his backyard!

Sorry about that. When the car was new, the sunroof switch did what I thought was the same thing, and the service dept just pushed the switch back down into place.

Too quiet!! But I like it anyway
It's very different, but at the same time very familiar feeling.
It is definitely the only car that could possibly replace the R32 for me.

Don't be sad. All we're doing is turning more people on to the R32 experience.

There were only 5,000 to start with, minus probably a couple of hundred that have not survived these last eight years. So we have to share them with others, so that they can find true happiness also.

    OK, irony?

I proved you wrong on several levels.

    1) I kinda jumped ship, but still own the R32 ship, while I bought a 2012 R... ship...
    2) You said I would never buy a turbo, guess what? I got a $34k 2012 .:R which has a "turbo."
    3) You say I just window shop, and I am all talk.. Did I mention I now own 2 R's, both black, but one is a 4 door "turbo." Haha...

Pic's to come to drive you into submission, finally.

Easier to make a monthly car payment than it is to be able to drop many thousands at once, cash, on a proper turbo build isn't it.

You should have prioritized and worked towards buying a decent house instead. Living in the ghetto sucks, even with a new car.

There's still a few of us around. I have no plans to ever sell my car. It's a shame that I don't drive the car as much as I should.

Chuck congratulations on the new R! Did you buy the blanket for the rear seat for Mutley yet?

    Hi Abe!

LOL. I just bought my black lab his dog blanket, but he's not allowed in the R. He rides in the wife's Tiguan.

The performance gains are very similar. I guess it all boils down to who is closer/more convenient.

When the time comes for me, I'll probably go with APR because the dealer I bought the car from is an authorized APR outlet.

I am going with APR, since I feel they have been the vw turbo 4 banger tuner champ for a long time.

I've seen the APR vs UM new R stage 2 dyno results. As expected, UM wins on numbers.. and knowing Jeff's obsession with smooth responsive driveability, you know who I'd get.

Jeff is great at what he does. I know first hand having him in my car at WITW taking data logs while we drove. Various times I might add. At one point I glanced over and he was looking at graph in deep thought. Well his deep thought paid off for my current tune.

Can you provide proof of such event? No offense, but don't you prog for Jeff?

Thought I saw you post something to that effect and could make you biased.

Dyno' seem pretty similar in power, and I've been in enough Apr tuned 2 audis to know its good enough for me.

No, I am not a UM dealer. I tried flashing customers for c2 a couple times a few years ago.. but it wasn't worth my time or hassle to do so, so I stopped.

BTW- even when I did flash those couple guys, I did so for free. They just paid C2 for the flash.. I just met them on my own time, with my own laptop, because I love hot rodding cars and helping other guys that are into making VW faster..

Oh, and as for proof..it is not up to me to post the results. Ask Jeff.

If you seriously need to ask for me to back up anything I say.. you haven't been paying any attention I'm the 6+ years I have been in the R32 forum.

I don't know what you mean about paying attention, I have been here since 2004, and don't
know what you are talking about. Sorry...

I wasn't asking Jeff, I was asking you to back up your claim, not attacking.
Pretty cool you have flashed for others and for free, I say thanks to those you've help, but I still
would like some kind of proof to those claims. I am thinking Jeff is some kinda black hat tuner lol...

All I know, I have been in 2 versions of 4 bangers APR has tuned, we tune a lot of Audi's at
my dealership, mainly R8's though, but have many happy 2L people, and their tunes were not
only impressive, the before and after difference I have felt, but the tunes were always smooth,
OEM like, and they always delivered some increased butt dyno power.

I am most likely having my Audi dealership send out my ECU to be flashed soon, I get an
employee discount, which I was supposed to find out what that was today, but was too busy to
    remember.

    anyway....

    chuck

before flashing, was told the intake and exhuast wont allow for much improvement,
due to restrictions there, and the euro version did not get nailed like we did, again.

i have not looked into much about this car or mods, so little time these days, but those are
concerns brought to my attention by people i know and trust.

I've been thinking about selling my R after 5+ years of ownership. I don't know how some of you made the switch to the new R. I drove it and I felt like I was driving a mini van that happened to be stick. All though I did test drive an e90 m3 and b8 s4 before that. The new R just didn't feel "right". Good luck with the new car. 420+hp apr stage3 would be fun tho ha.
