Bought my first VW about 3 weeks ago. Already in love and addicted..

It was hard to find a clean Mk4 for a good price, looked at probally 10 GTI's. They were all beat up and abused. It was hard finding a clean one, almost gave up. But then saw one on KSL, been on for there 2 days, it was a Little bit over my price range, ($8500) but went and gave it a try. Went and looked at it, it was immaculate! Before i drove it, my dad just asked what they could do on it. Salesman said let me go look at my papers, came back, showed us what they had in to it. And said he'd let it go for $6200. As soon as I pulled away I knew it was the one...

So now looking to Modify it a little bit..

What are some of the most common mods for the MK4's? Planned on Intake, DV, and exhaust for sure. What are the best brands/models? Sorry, noobie here.

    Opinions welcome.

Looks like a solid car. I know Integrated Engineering is local to you so you should hook up with them. Avoid 20 year olds who think they know what they are doing and try not to go the cheap route everytime and you should be ok. First off you should get the maintenance up to date.. Timing belt waterpump thermostat.. Beyond that downpipe, exhaust ,flash ,coilovers, should be next on the list.
    Happy motoring.

Use photobucket. Anyways Integrated Engineering for any extreme mods you wanna do. Most stuff "mods" now you'll be able to find used being MKIV's are turning into the MKIII's of the VW scene.

MkIIIs are just parts and engine donors for Is and IIs.

How could you compare MKIIIs and MKIVs? Theyre both just the cardboard box holding a powerplant swap for a real car
