So here it goes... I recently rebuilt my transmission and in the process somehow my oil filter was left loose... So I was on the highway and I am sure u can guess what happened. Well at least damage is not toooooo crazy. Looks like rod bearings are shot and some sort of plastic oil splash piece got melted. I'll post pics later. Some of u may know I have the car up for sell. But I was planning on selling thinking the whole motor was shot. So far I found out the head is good block is good. But bottom end will have to be redone. So I was wondering if I keep the car should I just do a 2.0 conversation? I have seen ie sells a whole kit for 1800 is that everything included. Also if I wanted to take the motor out myself how hard is that? I did take the oil pan off and valve cover off to look inside. But I am nervous of taking the whole motor out for two reasons. One is tools. Two is space I don't have a garage. So how long would it take and can it be done by either taking the whole front end apart or out the top? Thanks in advance
