Thread: borning out = gains?

  1. 04-13-2012 01:26 AM #1
    hello,

I have a budget of $2,000 to spend on maintenance/performance. what would be the next step to get some more power? im not interested in forced induction. I would rather spend the extra money on replacing all major maintenance related parts and add performance with piston, clutch, injector upgrades. I have no idea where to start. i hear a few people are "boring out" please explain the purpose and rough costs involved. thanks!

ps: I want a smooth/tight/responsive engine if that makes any sense.

    engine as it sits:

    2.8l 12v vr6
    268 schrick cams
    giac chip
2.5 exhaust/headers suitcase muffler removed stock corrado muffler.
