We will be hosting our 3rd cruise to Southern Worthersee this year.

In 2010, we led a small organized cruise with a handful of local enthusiasts that turned into a small adventure: Water and Wagens

Last year, the cruise grew even larger. We were joined by some new faces along with some old ones: Jetta Down

If history repeats itself, then this year will undoubtedly be another cruise to remember.

    Here is the info:

    When: Wednesday Night / Thursday Morning, May 17, 2012 @ 12:00am
Where: Applebee's Parking Lot. 640 Promenade Boulevard Bridgewater, NJ 08807
Departure: The cruise will leave at 1:00am sharp.
    Route:
    Google Map Link
Downloadable Turn By Turn PDF with Gas Stops
    I-287 N
    I-78 W
    I-81 S
Through the mountains and into Helen.

We have also included scheduled stops along the way. Unfortunately, we cannot stop every few miles to pick up people, so we ask that you organize a cruise down from your area to meet up with us at any of the following areas:
    Pilot Travel Center: ETA 5:00am
16921 Halfway Boulevard Hagerstown, MD 21740
Exxon Mobile Gas Station: ETA 8:45am
345 Brughs Mill Rd, Fincastle, VA 24090
    APPCO Service Station: ETA 1:00pm
2004 Temple Hill Road, Erwin, TN, 37650
Follow us (literally) using Google Latitude on your smartphone by adding mwadya@gmail.com. You can also check out the Sowo Road Trip thread to add people in your area. We ask that the cruise leaders meeting up with us along the way please coordinate with your local folks to get connected and make sure no one gets left behind!

    A few things to remember:

    Have a Full Tank!
We will be making a gas stop every ~200 miles. Have your cars topped off.
    Bring Walkie-talkies with Extra Batteries.
Communication is awesome. C'mon, who doesn't like messing around with walkie-talkies anyway? . We'll be broadcasting on channel 8.
    Snacks and Drinks.
Have some Redbull, coffee, soy milk, or whatever keeps you up with you before heading out. Don't drink too much or you will be bursting at the seams if you know what I mean.
    No Racing!
We cannot stress this enough. Since there will be a good amount of cars on the road, the last thing anyone needs is an accident. Respect your fellow cruisemates.
This is a cruise designed to get together with old friends and make new ones. We hold camaraderie in high regard. We all stay together and more importantly, no one gets left behind.

    Roll Call
Post up what you're driving, how many you're bringing, and where you're meeting us! You can also confirm your attendance on FB here: http://www.facebook.com/events/333242303397856/

Yeah, not to worried about that considering we will be driving straight through which is what myself & some Audi/VW friends planned on doing; with the occasional gas stop of course. Any of you guy's plan on hitting the Tail of Dragon on the way down, From what I can see...adds just an hour to the trip.

I think we travelled through part of it last year, we'll assess the route and see how lively people are after the last gas stop

That wouldn't be an issue. What we can do is confirm where other drivers will be linking up with the cruise. We can then post the locations and ETA so people know when to stand by and merge in when the cruise passes.

I am currently looking for a good way for the cruise to be tracked through an app like Google Latitude or GPS tracker. That way, you could see where we are in real time.

I remember last year you guys stopped in Harrisonburg, VA, and I see you'll be passing through there again. Around what time would you be heading through?

We are going to hash those plans out this weekend and will post the details in the first post. Perhaps mapping out each gas stop will help everyone out. That way, other drivers can link up with us at their closest rally point.

Most people's cars don't. Last year, I believe the gas stops were every 200 miles. Since people have different mods and pee break needs, this seemed to be a happy medium for all (except the non-girlfriend-having camels driving stock cars of course).

Okay, I know there are more people coming (from whatever leg of the trip) than have joined the FB group soooo it's time for a roll call!!

Let's organize it by state so you can get an idea of who's showing up at what meetup spot (gas spots TBD ASAP), so post up a pic of what you'll be bringing, with how many people, and from where!

    I'll start...

Eudorrra from NJ, driving myself this year lmao. My car is not together yet, but at least the inside will still look the same:

I may be able to join the Cruise near the PA/MD border, driving the big blue Orchid van. It only cruises at 80mph comfortably, but gets 600 miles per tank

At least we will have a rolling store in case people break something along the way.
