Thread: General question about carb jetting

  1. 04-14-2012 12:03 AM #1
Alright I found out the jets in my non emmision holley 2bbl carb are the smallest you can buy and it is still overjetted. I can get emmision jets that are far smaller, but will this cause any issues?

I have it on a 1.8 vw cabriolet. I get full throttle at around 1/4 of the throttle travel. i dont remeber the actual model number. I do know its a copycat holley that uses holley parts and when I went to the performance auto parts store and looked it up we found it was for a 1968 8 cylinder AMC car.

    It has .40 jets

I don't know what the carb is, AMC used everyones parts. However if it is a V8 carb, yea, I imagine it is too much all over.

The number 1 replacement 2bbl carb is the weber 32/36 search for a DGAV DGEV DFAV DGV, etc. They are all basically the same carb. I would look on Ebay for a used one.
