Yeah that's an understatement. It took about 6 hrs for that one wheel alone. I'm debating what to do with the teardrops themselves. I know i don't want to match the paint to the car, I'm thinking either leaving them plain or painting gun metal/ dark grey. What did you end up doing with yours?

I have to say, my favorite threads on this site are ones where people find these crusty cars that look like they should be trashed and turn them into awesome little classics! Nice work!

Matching teardrops aren't a bad look, just leave the center caps alone:

If you want the original color, it's Aero Gray Metallic (LV7G).

Oh geeze those centers are not my cup of tea. I'm really leaning towards just grey. Thanks for the color code knowing me i'll just try to find a decent rattle can that looks similar.

Just a bit too bold for me. Still remember the first time i saw one of those golfs, I seen it in MN then a few days later i saw one in the middle of nowhere in IL and wondered how the hell it was down there. I think i was more shocked to find out VW made them from the factory like that

Well i got the teardrops on one side today... idk about them i really like the way they look on the clipper kit cabbys but not to sure about mine... all that hard work i think im going to go back to the 13's

On a better note i picked up a set of front seats out of an 88 rocco. I was told they were out of a wolfburg ed so they have a height adjustment. They sit much lower and they are much more comfortable. pics of corse....

Yeah i've passed on a few mk3 and mk4 seats because i just wanted something to drop it. Mine are a little stiff but i've been using some conditioner on them that seems to be helping

Great Job Man! Red and black '86's are the best.

I've also got those same black pleather seats in mine. The height adjust is awesome. Keep the updates coming.

Looks real nice beetlefreak. are you rubbing on hard turns in thr front at all... oh you have all the sway bar stuff, that probably helps.

I'm a short guy so the hight adjustment isn't necessary for me but it defiantly is nice!

No, I have a faint rear wheel flare rub but nothing to really worry about right now.
