He did a stupid thing, not sure if I would call it 'good'.
Anything smaller than a moose/cattle/horse, just hit and do not try to avoid.

For a special model like this, as its rare, does one send it to ferrari to fix? and dont they get upgraded sometimes?

or is this only for f40s, 50s and enzos?

i remember reading about some models being upgraded when in for repair

I love animals way too much, so **** the Ferrari. As wonderful a time machine as the 512M, my inner Buddhist would never get over knowing I could have avoided the poor little hedgehog.

I've killed a bird (flew into my roof rack), and a rabbit (Zion National Park on a twist canyon road), and I can't seem to shake the terrible feeling that I killed those little bastards for no good reason.

Yea a small animal may have damaged the front bumper just a little, the damage would be WAAAY less then what it is. I personally do not believe there was a hedgehog, probably just being a snooty ferrari driver that couldnt actually handle his car...

So you are one of those drivers that will swerve trying to avoid a small animal, which in turn might make you lose control of your vehicle, causing you to do more damage to your car/someone else's car/ kid on bike/old lady walking/etc...
    That sounds smart.

Point taken. If it wasn't too dangerous a situation, I most certainly would swerve.
I've avoided a rogue buck while driving at 65 mph in a 2door Blazer towing a trailer, swerving and missing it by inches, more than likely saving the lives of my closest friend, and also swerving and missing a very rotund badger while on a single lane highway traveling at a similar pace in a Toyota Matrix XRS. I've also missed a family of Ptarmigan crossing a very remote highway in western Canada, simply knocking over a baby while driving my Passat at the legal speed limit.

All in all, I think I have a superb record of animal avoidance. If you are a good driver, with quick reflexes and an awareness of your surroundings I think you can more often than not avoid killing yourself or animals. Or anyone else on the road.

If it comes down to mine, or another humans life then of course the animal is about to feel the wrath of my steel chariot, but that is where situational awareness comes into play. An ability to asses risks quickly, and act accordingly.

When something jumps out in front of your vehicle- you don't have the luxury of a pause button.
Your instinct is to swerve to avoid hitting something and damaging your vehicle.

My instinct is to hit that POS. Why risk a head on collision or tree impact.

    Kill the deer, rabbit, whatever.

If I had swerved when a deer ran out on me while riding the ZX6R. I would probably be dead. Instead I hunkered down and hit that mother. Then threw it in the truck and ate that bastard.

Wow, really? When my dad worked at the Mack test center he told me that the test drivers actually kept a scoreboard with different animals having different point values and at the end of the year they would tally up a winner.

I'm guessing he actually tried to avoid to in order to avoid hitting it causing an accident. That's a shame, he probably would have gotten less damage from just running it over.

Haha, well avoiding animals in a 30 ton truck is a whole different ball game. I think you'd just have to accept that you are going to kill some stuff over the course of your career. May as well embrace it I guess!

One time I hit a bird doing about 60mph and drove around with it on the grill of my civic for a week straight before finally scraping it off with a stick...

Best Ive ever seen was in Sacramento, a buddy of mine has an 02 mustang, we swapped a supercharged 5.4l dynoing over 600hp, 10.5" drag radials in the back pulls into our shop, not with one bird or just some feathers but an entire flock of about 7 birds wedge in the front grille and intercoller. All he did is laugh and say "I guess they just werent fast enough"

This is the Mustang, after the 4.0l whipple supercharger, dark red was fresh paint, bright red was fresher because he decided he didnt like the dark red And he considers this a "street car". Dyno shop expects over 1000hp with this charger on it

Admittedly I'm not an expert, but isn't the ZX6R a motorcycle? So you hit a deer with a motorcycle and put the dear in the trunk of your motorcycle and ate it?

I'm guessing there are some steps missing here.

    It's not that difficult
1: kill deer with sportbike (most common roadkill technique)
2: woopdy doo get the truck cletus.
    3: bring deer home
4: make love with sister while deer cooks
    5: ?????
    6: venison bitches
