GLWS. This thing is slick looking. Tempting too.

No seriously it's gone.
Up for a sale is an enthusiast-owned, quick, tastefully-modded, well-maintained GTI. I bought it new in March 2007 and have been the only owner & driver with a short commute allowing me keep the miles down. I'm upgrading to an S4 and need to sell this to help me afford one. It's served me well and now it's time to let someone else enjoy it.
It's never been tracked, never been autocrossed, and while I never dyno'd it, on paper it's got 276 hp & 315 ft-lb. You should let me know what the numbers are at the wheels once you dyno it...
Basic Specs:
- 2007 2-door MkV GTI
- Manual, 6 speed
- United Gray (lower rear bumper painted to match with matte black diffuser)
- Package 2 (leather, climatronic, sunroof, 18" wheels, but no nav)
- 42,xxx miles (~8,500 mi/year)
- All TSB's done and paperwork available for everything I've done
- Maintenance Service paid for through 60k mi, so you have 4 free oil/filter changes that don't expire (plus a spare cabin air filter to really sweeten the deal!)
- Most mods done by the good guys at Euro Code in Torrance
- All systems functional (A/C, seat warmers, sunroof, etc.)
Power Upgrades/Mods:
- APR Stage II+ tune
- APR Full 3" Turbo Back Exhaust with high-flow cat (stock downpipe available)
- --Excellent throaty sound, not super loud but you can hear it if you want to...NO DRONE inside the cabin
- APR High Pressure Fuel Pump (new pump, not a rebuilt one)
- --Noticeable increase in power from 3000 - 5000 RPM
- --Passing uphill without downshifting to 5th is NOT a problem
- Cam Follower replaced at 32k miles (original one was in good shape but better safe than sorry)
- Neuspeed P-Flow 3" Intake (air filter was cleaned with K&N cleaner and re-oiled last July at 35,900 mi; stock air box available)
- Upgraded Piston Diverter Valve
- S3 Intercooler with Neuspeed hi-flo charge pipe (noise pipe deleted + sound box removed = increase in throttle response
)
- --A3 firewall plug installed for a clean look
- Spark Plugs (NGK BKR7EIX) replaced at 36k mi
Handling Upgrades/Mods:
- H&R Touring Cup Kit (1.2" - 1.5" drop; installed in October '09 with around 20k mi; stock shocks available)
- APR 27 mm rear sway bar (currently on medium stiffness setting; stock sway bar available)
- 18" O.Z. Ultraleggera Wheels - Black
- Continental Extreme Contact DW tires installed on September '10 @ 28k miles
- --They're quiet, sticky, and will last a while (treadwear = 300)
Aesthetic & Misc Upgrades/Mods:
- Huper Optik Tint (30% all around) + 70% 3M Crystalline Tint for the windshield (done for heat rejection, not for looks; the actual tint isn't noticeable but the drop in the cabin temp was VERY noticeable)
- OEM front grille with no holes drilled in bumper (stock one available)
- Skene Design bracket installed for offset front plate (here's the installation thread)
- Euro spec smoked R32 Taillights (imported from Germany; Hella brand)
- 42 Draft Designs stealth oil catch can (emptied about 6 oz. after 3,000 miles of driving)
- Aluminum bezels on the climate control knobs
- Newsouth Performance Gauge cluster with boost, oil pressure, and oil temperature gauges
- Euro headlight switch
- Smoked bumper side markers
- Super white 9006 fog lights (they match the headlights much better)
- City light LED conversion (they give a nice blue glow instead of yellow)
- New front black emblem
- Painted rear black emblem
- New floor mats with GTI logo and red piping
- MOMO Combat EVO shift knob
- Real Italian leather shift boot from Redline Goods imported from Poland (can't make this stuff up!)
I've put in over $9k in mods and while I don't expect to get that back, this is no stock GTI.
Fully paid off last September, so clean title in hand.
Located in Redondo Beach, serious inquiries only please!
Now for the good stuff:
The Euro Spec taillights have a rear fog (wiring not connected) and the turn signal is amber.
Notice how I captured the "GTI" door sill reflection? Yup, totally planned it.
While I'm keeping my iPod, I'll leave the case and audio cable that's discretely-routed to the audio jack in the glove box.
Anyone who sits in the car and isn't familiar with GTI's thinks the gauges are OEM due to how well they're integrated and how perfectly they match the color of the instrument cluster.
