I did a search and found nothing on this so here goes...

I am sick of lugging my big canister vacuum outside to vacuum my car. I've seen the small vacuum cleaners sold by detailing shops but was wondering what the opinions of them are.

Does the convenience outweigh the price? Some of these things are expensive. Are they worth it?

    Any suggestions welcome...thanks!

I just use a small vacuum that I got at like target. Probably cost around $50 and works great, you don't need anything special

I use the central vac .. I got the garage kit for it ( long hose etc ) and it is way better than anything I have had before . Cuts our vacuuming time by 2/3.

Just pickup a shop vac on casters. As much as I'd love to use our house Dyson for the car I didn't want to abuse it by sucking up the possible little stones, sand, coins, etc. it may find hidden in the car or trunk over time. I went to Sears and got a 5HP one. Does both wet and dry, easy to pop off and dump, came with a few attachments and is plenty powerful enough. Was about $65 I think and they sell all kinds of sizes.

I use a wall mounted Bissel garage vac. Its awesome and has incredible power plus its easy to empty and doesn't take up any floor space.

I use this Dewalt wet/dry vac. If you already have tools that use the same batteries and charger, it's pretty awesome. An 18V Nicad battery lasts about 15 minutes. Cordless is great if you don't have a garage.

The last vacuum you'll ever buy:

Anyone I know that has one LOVES it, including me.. And mine is going on 10 years old and works like the day I got it!

Then again, a vacuum is only as good as it's attachments:

    4.5 Gallon Wet/Dry Vac

Very portable to take around. I think I've had mine for 4 years or so now. No issues whatsoever.

Buy a smaller sized shop vac with the smaller hose and go to walmart and buy the pet hair brush that rotates. It is the best thing in the world. The bristle round brushes are nothing compared to this.

I use a Dyson handheld rechargeable. It sucks! And not in a good way. Battery issues
