Thread: AUTOMATIC tempature hvac control option on MKIV Jetta?

  1. 04-14-2012 10:56 PM #1
Was there such an option in 2002 2003 Jetta wagon TDI? Automatic temp. control not the manual adjust knobs.

If so what all would be involved in an upgrade? Is it all contained in this unit, extra computor for the auto temp., factory wired to accept misc.?

Do a search for "climatronic swap." It's not easy but it's possible.

You'd need quite a few things. The sensors, harnesses, electronic controller, the entire heater core assembly behind the dash and some other things. I have a full swap in nyc if you're interested.

In 2003, you could get Climatronic on a Jetta GLS wagon by getting the Wagon Premium Package (which also included leather, power seats, auto-dimming mirror, fog lights, MFA, rain-sensor wipers...), but only with the 1.8T engine. I'm guessing that it was the same for 2002 models.
