Thread: My gli build thread

    i purchased my tornado red gliin november and am now gonna be doing work to it these next 6 weeks. ive gotten some minor things done already, but heres the list of things what im gonna do/ordered for my car.

    -s1-solowerks coilovers *ordered
    -18" VW Golf R wheels (reps) *ordered
    -Gloss Black Roof
    -yellow Laminex foglights

    Things done already

    -15% tint all around
    -smoked laminex taillights w/reverse cut-out\

    Pics will be posted as the car is worked on. any suggestions, ideas im open to as this is my first v-dub and want some opinions. i hope all will like the work im doing.

    Just recieved my solowerks coilovers monday afternoon, now waiting for my Golf R wheels to arrive so i can put the wheels/coilovers on.

    I was thinking about putting some yellow lamin-x on my fogs for my TR GLI too, still not sure yet, but doesn't look bad

    got them off ebay just search s5 wheels and your lug pattern, size etc. got a great deal on them.

    Lol actually got a smoking deal on these and they look just as good to me as the Golf R's and a hell of alot better than the stock base wheels im rolling with now. Monday is the day my suspension, wheels and lamin-x fogs go on so pics will be coming by tuesday the latest. Still debating tho on whether or not to do the gloss black vinyl roof

    The thing im still on the fence with is the gloss black vinyl roof. i mean the price really isnt the problem, its will it do its job in really seperating my car with a unique look on a tornado red gli that you dont see very often you know?

    i actually didnt think I was going to like the s5 wheels (i dont typically) and it didn't turn out too bad, definitely going to look better lowered.

    but i gotta say i would ditch the tinted tails, looks too contrasting on the red imo

    yea im gonna see how it looks after the car is lowered tommorow with the fogs. i was thinking that as well.

    Getting hubcentric spacers put on it tommorow due to the fact the hub is a little big and got a vibration. So after work tommorow getting them on so ill be good to go then

    what is the centerbore of the aftermarkets? I have the replica golf R and think I need hubcentric rings too as I get vibration over 60 mph. I know we have 57.1 but want to see the conversion. thanks

    The centerbore on my reps are 66.56 so im getting the hubcentric's tommorow so ill know what thy are then and ill tell you. The shop just took care of the ordering process for them for me. I will give the info asap with the company and price as well to help you
