It will hopefully be here in June.... looking very similar to this.

Here's a picture of the interior I'm ordering.

Congrats. Is the 2.0 T the only available engine there?

Yes.... unfortunately. TDI would make it the perfect vehicle.

Nothing confirmed on pricing, but I've read Audi is looking at a $1,500 to $2,000 above the pricing of the A4 Avant --- which would put the base price around $38k.

Mine is ordered with Premium Plus and the layered oak inlays for the interior. I'm guessing price will be around $43k before my discounts.

When I move to Denver w/ g/f and we.look for new winter wagon it will be between allroad and xc70. Would have added outback in there but I absolutely hate the look ok the latest gen.

Congrats on the vehicle! I'm sure you will love it! Perfect vehicle would have a 6-SPD manual.

The only way I could be more jealous is if you took European delivery.

I think this new Allroad is really well done, but the single drivetrain choice is disappointing. I'm sure it will drive well, but a TDI/6-Speed combo would be just awesome for this car. It sucks when Audi offers great TDI engines and manual gearboxes, yet expecting their availability in a car like this puts you in a dream world. Oh well, it should be a good choice for those looking for a slightly more upscale alternative to a Legacy Outback.

Are these designed to be off road vehicles? I can't figure it out. What sets these apart from "regular" 4x4 Audi sedans and wagons?

The picture the OP posted shows it more gear towards offorad like the Outback (which is more CUV/SUV now). I would not take my regular A4 offroad. The Allroad appears it would at least go over a regular curb.

Yeah they are designed for light offroading and excellent all-weather capability. They have quite a bit more ground clearance than a regular A4. Designed for people who don't want or need a CUV/SUV. Pretty much the only manufacturer who has regularly offered such a type of vehicle until now has been Subaru, with a few oddball oddball exceptions like Volvo's XC70 Cross Country and Audi with the original A6 Allroad.

Thought about doing that, but the timing with our new baby meant baby won out!
