Congrats. Considering trading in the S4 for an Allroad since I need more space for the dogs. My local dealership is having a demo event on May 8th and we'll see if I can live with the 2.0T How much of a discount are you getting if you dont mind me asking?

I know this gets old but "just chip that sucker". I did that with my '09 Avant (same engine) and it made for a pretty decent power bump. The low end torque made it a fine around town daily driver. But Audi needs to hatch a new four banger to match (make that exceed) the likes of BMW and Ford offerings.

Some numbers to go along with this thread. Even with a slight bump in HP and some decent TQ this thing is heavy enough to negate that at 3600lbs? (Im selfishly comparing it to my '08 avant)

I have been scanning the listing for used C7 A6 Avant 3.0T for a while now... slim pickings. No one wants to part with it.

What I really want is for the S4 Avant to return

The A4 2.0T 8-speed sedan these days is doing 0-60 in the mid 5's. I would predict the Allroad should be low to mid 6's. That should be adequate IMO.

I'm really interested in this configuration, but am hard pressed to unload my very new 2008 sLine avant for a bigger heavier car with essentially the same engine. (+11hp?)

It's very pretty though. I guess if you put an air suspension on it you'd actually have what I always liked about the original, slammy freeway ride and lifty dirt roadness.

I believe the curb weight is around 3400-3500 pounds... which is pretty good for a vehicle of its size.

I've driven the Euro-spec version with the 7-speed S-tronic transmission and it scoots right along.

7.3 inches of ground clearance --- approximately 2-inches more than the A4 Avant.

I get a percentage discount off the price thru the Audi Supplier Discount program thru my employer. The discount brings it down below invoice. It's on top of any other incentives that may be available at the time. I also have a friend who is a big player in the automotive finance arena and will get a smokin' APR rate.

The British Audi site lists the 'unladen weight' of the 2.0t allroad as 1714 kg or almost 3800 pounds.

    It's a hefty little critter.

That's awesome. Haven't talked numbers with my dealer yet but I doubt there would be much negotiation room for such a new model.

The numbers are a bit misleading though. There's absolutely no low end. It's feels like a 2.0 from a mkiv Jetta or something but then once it hits the midrange it's a completely different machine. Tons of mid range and top end for a 2.0. I have the 8 speed and putting the tranny in sport mode makes a big difference in peppiness but the motor always feels wound out that way. Plus gas mileage takes a big hit.

More like low-mid 6s..... it's only slightly more powerful than the 2.0T in my A3 (211 vs 200), and the A4 with the 8-speed and quattro is a few hundred pounds heavier. My car does 6.7 on a good day.

Need an S4 or a tune to get down into the 5s.

    S4 is in the 4's.

That looks like mid 5's to me.

As much as I like this packaging, all I'm saying is that its 360+ lbs heavier than a B7 avant. (depending on transmission)
I'd have liked to see the TDI make it here in this segment. I just see a very pretty car that you might not want to get too "allroady" in for fear of getting a heavy car stuck somewhere without enough balls to get it out of trouble.
The 3.0TDI is the ideal engine in this car IMHO. 240hp and 369TQ

I bet most buyers (no offense to OP) wont be "allroading" this car much anyways, including myself. I'd be afraid to get it dirty cause it just looks too good.

    Oh, OK.

If you don't like those numbers, then take Motortrend's.

You must mean C6 (C7 is current generation). But yes I have been doing the same thing. They are rarer then hens teeth and hold their value very well. There are multitudes more V10 R8's on autotrader compared to C6 3.0t avants.

I'm not really sure how you are coming to that conclusion. I have a 2011 A4 and unless you are trying to pin it from 1600rpm (which I'm not sure why you would), it has plenty of low end torque. The way you are talking about it is pretty much the opposite of my experience with the car. Good low end, lots of mid range, falls on its face up top like all 2.0t's. Overall I'm very satisfied with the power from the 2.0t in it. Its not a rocketship, but its plenty quick around town, and thus far I'm averaging close to 600km on a tank.

I'm guessing that with all this talk about lack of power, poeple on TCL are against software upgrades from aftermarket companies?

Also, I just called a local Audi deal and was told by a salesman that they were expecting pricing to be betwen 50k - 57k???? I am really confused about this. Is there anywhere I can get an actual price quote?

I wouldn't be surprised at the 50K+ numbers.
If you take the current A4 Avant configurator and start clicking it's pretty easy to hit 50K.

The "211" hp 2.0T Valvelift recently dyno'd stock 221hp and 290tq at APR (TT version). The longitudinal version apparently has a slightly larger turbo than the transverse, so it could make for even better numbers.

I noticed that they add "estimated drive train loss". I wonder what their drive train fudge factor number is?

    Saintor got to you!

There is a guy on the A4 forums that got 4.8s 0-60 on his stage II 2.0T but its not easy on the transmission. Still, these figures are not representative of the car though its certainly possible.

    congrats.

I just ordered one of these for a client last week and they are very excited. They are coming from owning a long line of Mercedes and switching to Audi now.
they got Prestige pckg, Glacier White on black, but almost ordered Brilliant Red as a customer order.

I think this new allroad will sell very well here in the US because BMW and MB don't make anything that directly competes with it.
