    Thread: Smoking steering column in mk3?

      Someone hopefully can shed light on this. Randomly, after driving my car, whether it be to move it 10 feet in my driveway, or a 80 mile drive, I will shut it off and white smoke will puff out of my column between it an the steering wheel. What is causing this? Thank you for all help!

      Check your clock spring! Maybe defective and may cause a fire.
