Every morning, I pull out onto the street and almost at the exact place in the road, a few hundred feet away, I think the fuel gets cut-off for a second. It feels like the car is downshifting, but I have a manual. Anybody experience that?

Yes, I have the same issue. I have another thread going on it search "DSG Near Stall". You have a TDI/DSG as well?

I have the same issue but with a manual transmission TDI. Every day on the same part of the road when I just start out for work, the car bucks a little. Very weird.

Let me guess, you drive right after engine starts, and the problem appeared when you pressed on the pedal making your rev climb all of a sudden. My guess is that your engine is not warm-up yet. Drive "slowly" when you start the engine might help. But it is just my opinion. There are tons of experts on this website, and they can provide much better explanations than me.

Actually, i'm BARELY pressing the gas, just maintining my speed in my neighborhood, maybe 25mph at about 1500rpm at most, not accelerating. Yes, the engine is cool, but it's not 10 degrees, it's 50 degrees and I've actually noticed it more since it's been above freezing in the morning. It also does it in the afternoon when the temps are 70 and more. I've had mine for a little over 7 weeks.

hmmmm... that is weird... We bought our car about the same time you did, and do not have this problem (knock on wood). Bring it back to VW then?

I have a tdi se 6 speed manual and I have experienced that. I feel like the car tries to sense my driving style and assume when I don't floor it it seems to buck every now and again.

It happens only first thing in the morning under very similar conditions to you. I will make note of it at my courtesy checkup. I am not worried about it yet.

I had a 2011 TDI Jetta that would do something similar, the techs could never reproduce the problem/

I will also note it when i have my courtesy check. If enough comment on it, maybe they'll investigate it at VW HQ and and discover they need to make an adjustment to something. It does almost feel like the fuel is being shut off or not flowing properly. It's not normal, it's not bad enough to concern me...yet. It's just odd.

    I did find this on myturbodiesel.com: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/b...review-faq.htm

    TDI engine problems
First, this exact engine is new although it uses similar components off existing models. Based off similar engines, here are some of the most reported problems. There have been a few complaints of high pressure fuel pumps (HPFP) on this engine type failing and causing damage to the fuel injection system. There is not enough data to determine the exact causes of HPFP failure beyond speculation and this article will state just the facts. For some theories on these problems, please comment in the VW Passat TDI forums. It would not deter me from buying a TDI since all car makes, even the ones made by "the reliable brands" have a few lemons and internet forums tend to spotlight problems, not the cars that are running fine. In addition, the Passat TDI engine is different from the Jetta-Golf-Sportwagen.

There are been a few complaints of engine bucking or hesitation at certain speed-throttle positions. My best guess is that the better tuning of the Adblue equipped engine will help minimize or eliminate these. If they happen to you, please post a report in the forums. There is still a high and low pressure EGR with exhaust throttle but so far I haven't heard any reports of engine bucking.
