For Trade: 1996 Harlequin Golf #156 Red base, VR6+5 speed swapped

I'm looking to trade my beloved 1996 Harlequin Golf for something a bit newer and bigger/better suited for a guy my size (i'm 6'7") right now i'm only looking for a trade since it is my only car I need something right away and don't have time to sell the car then look for something. So with that being said, shoot me offers.... I'm looking for either VW or Audi, even BMW or Benz too. If you have a VW im really only interested in 4 door cars or wagon's as I want something with more room. Here's whats done to the car, and thanks for looking.

2011 Second Place Mod 2 Show car winner at VAG Craft

1996 Golf Harlequin #156 as verified by the VIN through Ross' VW Harlequin registry.

• I am the 4th owner of the car, the car was purchased new from Don Mills VW by a women from cambridge if i remember correctly, then sold to a dealer, then to a women from the St. Cathrine's area who I bought it from.

Mechanical:

• The car was auto with a 2.0l (2.slow) motor, when I bought it, unfortunately after a few months of driving the car the auto went into "limp mode" and at this point a low K VR6 and 5Speed swap was made available to me.

• VR is a 12v OBD2 motor with around 140,xxxk at the moment, it's from a Drivers edition GTI and has Schrick cams, Neuspeed power pullies brand new OEM plug wires and a new re-inforced oilpan.

• The transmission has a Clutchmasters stage 2 clutch and a stage 2 flywheel as well as a B&M short shifter.

• Brand new Battery

• Car is still 4 bolt but with Corrado G60 front brakes, still has the factory rear drums but have had the shoes replaced.

• US VR6 cluster, the cluster is not from the original car but I still have the factory Harlequin 2.0l cluster as well as I wrote down the millage from both when I performed the swap so I can give an exact millage readout on the car.

• Custom full header back Stainless steel 2.5", tig welded, straight pipe with magnaflow muffler and dual tips from a 2007 GTI

Exterior:

• European OEM MK3 black textured fender flares

• Hella clear and red tails

• OEM Votex roof rack (has the aluminum rails not the black ones, look the same as the mk4 racks), brand new when i bought it last year, I have the key for the sides, as well as the bag with the original manual and the torqueing key used to properly fasten the racks.

Suspension/Wheels:

• Coilover suspension, made by a company called Weitech (not sure on the spelling sorry)
• Currently sitting on Corrado G60 Steelies with 195/50/15 tires (being replaced with new tires this week)
• I also have 3 of the stock 5 spoke wheels, and a set of 5 bolt rotiform BLQ LIKE wheels, made by a company called Grand Cross and are from the same era as the car (they are 15x7 et40)

Interior:

• Stock "Jester" pattern seats unique to the harlequin
• I also have a full set (front, back, and door cards) of Jetta GLX seats, the front seats are in the car right now, had them in the car for the winter so the front stock seats didn't get salt on them. Side bolsters are mint on the stock and Jetta GLX seats, with no rips on the fronts or rears.
• Audi B5 S4 leather Steering wheel
• Front and rear strut towers are mint, not a speck of rust on them at all!

Other then that the car is stock, i've tried to keep the car as original as possible only doing minor modifications to it as the car either needed something (as in when the auto transmission died) or to give the car a personal and unique flare.

I also have a bunch of spare/other/random pieces of trim and other items that go with the car should the car go to a new owner.

It's been an amazing car and I love it and the only reason for posting this is to see what might be out there to move up to. If nothing works out I am most happy to keep the car!

Well I really am only looking for trades but if I had to put a price on it I'd probably ask for $8000 firm. But finding an outright buyer vs. A trade is not what I'm looking for as I don't have time to be without a car while I find another one, because I need a car to get to work. Thanks for asking though!
