That was a tremendous race. Now if only Rossi could do the same on the ducati!

The Ducati will never be good, because the engineers will not listen to the riders(Melandri, Hayden and most importantly Rossi).
Rossi went to Yamaha in 04, and won the championship on a bike that had not won a race the year before. To not listen to him, is just plain dumb.
Stoner won the championship in 07, but after that, he only got 6 wins and 3 wins in the two subsequent years before leaving the team.
Between Rossi and Hayden they have 8 MotoGP championships(2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009).
Ducati has one.

Throw an Audi engineer down a hole with a ladder and he will fashion a shovel from it and tunnel his way out

He probably did not know that you can't pass in that corner, so he just did
what an amazing race, I saw it live and it wouldn't have mattered who would have won because it was so intense, so rare, so out of this world that as a MotoGP fan you had to like it. Let's not forget these 2 guys are teammates so they could have lost very important points for the Championship had they crashed. I'd like to compare these last laps to the Villeneuve-Arnoux duel in F1 at Dijon.

Awesome video, definitely glad you posted never seen this before![]()

Awesome race, I've seen the raw footage before but I enjoyed the post-race quotes in this one..
However, I'm a little unclear on MotoGP racing. Where is the rest of the field? Are they so far behind that they just don't appear in this race? Even in F1 on the final lap, the leaders are almost always contending with backmarkers (HRT, Caterham etc)

3rd place rider was over 8 seconds behind this pair - not unheard of in MotoGP.

Wow, never watched moto racing before, that was truly epic.

Tire and fuel management are huge factors in MotoGP.
Different riders will have different race strategies for each track.
For example, the season opener had Casey Stoner break away from the pack early on, only to get swallowed back up near the end of the race, making a great last 5 lap battle between 3 riders.
