might seem like a dumb question on my part, but can you describe the valve noise? if it sounds like valve ticking, you could be hearing the injectors as the direct injection is operated by piezoelectric injectors. This will give your engine a ticking, almost diesel like sound.
as for the oil, full synthetic that meets or exceeds VW 502.

Im new to the whole MK5 scene. I bought a 06 GLI on friday and i noticed a lil valve noise. is this typical? i was planning on doing a oil change in the next couple days to see if that would fix it. What oil do yall use in yalls cars?
