We have a lot of signs in the backroads here that read "END 55 MPH SPEED LIMIT". It always bothered me that it tells you what the speed limit WAS but not what it is now. IMO the most nonsensical sign in existence. Why not just post a speed limit sign?

its the first pic that comes up when you search for "Batman Street Sign" and no it's not my windshield. That is the exact sign that I was referring to tho, I am sure if you are from the area you know what complex I live in =P

Then I saw this for the first time about 7 years ago in VA. I looked up, said "wtf does that even mean" and proceeded to pull into the "box" as I learned later it was called and got yelled at by my from VA passenger about how I was going to get a ticket and for the life of me could not understand why. I spent the next day arguing about the fact that so long as your not a "moron" you should have no trouble navigating an intersection in VA, especially since they are big, open, and the lights are several minutes long.

Those signs are mainly for jackas$es who are stuck in traffic and move out into the intersection and are stuck there when the lights turn against them, blocking cross traffic. One wouldn't think a sign like that is necessary, but it happens all the GD time.

There are several signs outside of Pittsburgh that say something like "Watch for Drunk Drivers" or something along those lines. Anyone want to help find that sign?

It always cracked me up because it was like the state was admitting to people drunk driving in that area.

WTF school zone signs..

The biggest WTF to me - besides locating schools on main high traffic roads for some stupid reason - is how they put signage out for reduced speeds, but then put the quantifiers in small lettering that means you must be up to the sign to even know if you need to slow down or not.

Here is a local school they built on the fairly new bypass ...

The normal speed limit is 55mph, and note these signs are just for the intersection to the road that accesses the school. The school is not directly accessing the highway 9whish may not be possible by the regulations).

Ok- I need to slow down.

No wait- what are those times? Do they also mean Saturday and Sunday? What about holidays?

The one I took is a rural point-to-point type of road with minimal houses and no other connecting roads that runs about 2 miles. I used to "utilize" it years ago when I was in tech school.
