So I finally decided to move out of my parents place at the ripe old age of 27. I once swore to myself that I would never pay someone else's mortgage (besides helping my parents out) so I've waited until I could afford to buy.

I've been looking for a while, and really wanted something with a 2 or 3 car garage, but threw that all to the wind when I saw this condo. It's about 4,000 square feet in a granite building that used to be a courthouse.

    Anyway, on to the photos:

    A picture of the building

Don't mind the clutter, we're still unpacking

    Entryway

What will be the game room

    Living Room

    Entryway to the bedroom

And the best part...behind this door...

    Is another room...

    with this odd ladder....

    That goes to another room...

    With another ladder...

That goes to........my own private tower outdoor space!!!!!!

    Bat Signal

    The view

And a picture of the building in the 50's

    The foyer to the building

All in all I'm quite happy with my purchase.

You might even be safe from zombies up there. Especially if you had a few rifles, a couple of shotguns and lots of ammo!

That's a very unique and very cool place you got there! Would be interested to see it all decorated.

    I hate you.

Congrats on the purchase! There's so much room there. And the tower... talk about a wicked party hangout. Put some chairs and stuff up there and relax. Man. I'm envious.

place looks real cool. How many condos did they make it into? Are those outside areas common space?

That's incredibly cool. From one new homeowner to another, congrats

I badly wanted a 2-car garage as well, but 'settled' for a one car when we found an awesome house we couldn't pass up.

So you bought the whole building? I know nothing about RI pricing, but it seems like something like that would be CRAZY expensive.

**EDIT** So after some creepy Googling, looks like you bought a unit within the building?

Holy ****! That place is awesome! Next time I drive to visit my sister in Nantucket I'm stopping by to see it in person. Can I bring a laser pointer up to the tower to freak out people on the ground?

7 units total. The outside space in the tower is all mine. Only accessible from my unit.

Open floor plan with a raised living room and a bedroom tucked behind that.

Wow. You need a series of dumb waiters to bring beverages up to the patio...just don't have too many wobbly pops before you need to climb down!

that is the coolest place I have seen in a long time.

A friend of mine was renting an apartment in Indianapolis in an old department store. The lobby of the building was like 8 stories tall and had an escalator (not running) that went up to the sixth floor. It was like an Embassey Suites hotel. Bada$$ place to live

The entire building is Granite. Keeps cool in the summer and insulates the heat that rises in the winter. Thick well insulated roof keeps the heat in. The small windows keep it cool.
