    yeahhhh, keep telling yourself that...

but in all honesty be prepared for monster bills. All old buildings are leaky to a point, and while stone does retain heat, and insulates somewhat, when it heats up it stays warm, and when it gets cold, its stays cold.

but yeah congrats, and its a very cool place. Im just trying to imagine, how, I would paint/decorate it, and I cant come up with anything lol. Its such a unique space.

Previous owners bills weren't outrageous. The building was converted with the fact that it's an old building in mind, they sealed it up pretty tight. And yeah I'm still stumped as to how to go about decorating/painting. I'll keep the minimalist look for a while. All the walls are angled so it's tough to hang things.

A year from now, we'll be reading about the 4" rigid foam insulation project.

Using zillow I looked at the pictures of the other units for sale in the building and I think you got the best unit there. It looks to me like the developer didn't do a very good job turning the large courtrooms into real living space. The only other space that looked Ok was the basement unit but it hardly had any windows.

Correct on all counts. The other units aren't bad but mine is def the better of the 7.

Can one of you guys PM me the link to the other spaces? Looked on Zillow and didn't see them.

BTW: If you ever decide to get rid of the Heywood Wakefield set, let me know, I'd be interested for my 50's kitchen.

It would be for a large sum, more than the $4,500 or so the set is worth as it has sentimental value.

is this really the only entry to the bedroom?

seems like ducking over and under to get in and out of there all the time would suck after a while.

It's really not bad if you walk in at the right angle. Think of it as there being a 90 degree turn, then another 90 degree turn. I don't duck at all. I just imagine there's an invisible hallway. I'll take some pics of the gap between the beam and the angled wall to show theres plenty of room.

I'll just say I bought it right. For what I believe is a good price, and that I can always make my money back.

Unrealistic dream #1: Buy OPs unit to live/work. Buy "courtroom" unit on ground floor. Gut courtroom unit. Insert roll-up door. Make garage/shop.

But the courtroom is on the 2nd floor. I don't think my neighbors would enjoy me driving through the front door either

Here's a shot of the gap between the beam and the wall. Its a good 8 feet or so.

And a walkthrough showing plenty of headroom. Camera was held at eye level. That other straight on shot is deceiving. No ducking involved.
