Before anyone mentions the "if you have doubts or concerns about a tune don't do it", I understand those risks and am willing to accept the ramifications of my decisions.

That being said as I was investigating the NGP site, I stumbled across a disclaimer that made me a slight bit interested:

ECU Upgrades / EPROM / Software:
Due to the large number of variables with regards to upgrading the ECU programming on a vehicle, especially as pertaining to the current level of service and maintenance, condition and usage of the vehicle, as well as possible extraneous damage due to circumstances beyond our control including fuel quality, octane, installer error or user abuse, customers assume any and all responsibility for any and all damages associated with these ECU modifications and any related parts or services. NGP Racing is not liable for any part cost, labor fee, towing, or any other fees or costs related to the installation of performance software on a vehicle. Installation of performance software can result in lack of warranty coverage / voiding of warranty, as it pertains to the original issuer of said warranty, and NGP Racing makes no claims or guarantees with regards to warranty coverage.

Is that just a cover their "assets" move, or is that because people have had bad experiences? I asked my dealer how often they turn back modded cars for warranty work, but was told that it was a fairly rare occasion. So what do you all know? What problems have popped up from work being done at NGP, if any?

If this is just absurd, please tell me to STFU...but I figured that was a pretty thorough disclaimer if they hadn't had any problems.

it's just a normal disclaimer that any aftermarket shop will put up to reduce their liability. think of it this way: they are just providing the service to install parts/perform labor. anything that happens to your car as a result of these aftermarket parts is entirely on your head because you chose to have it installed.

i had my mk6 flashed by NGP, no worries. great bunch of folks over there who are honest and do it right the first time. countless others here and beyond can attest to that as well

I've had NGP do all of my work, install of the KW v3's, control arms etc. Everything in my sig. Talk to Benji in Woodbridge.

I've only taken my Audi to NGP...I've never had any problems whatsoever with them. John and his staff are top notch and always keep my car in tip top shape. If anything unexpected comes up, they always let me know and show me the problem. They have installed almost every mod on my car without fail. I just hope they don't move the shop to Dulles.

    Dont Hesitate...they're good people.

I second this as they are a great shop. They flashed my MK5 GTI almost 5 years ago and once APR makes a TDI chip I will be back there!!!

Cool, thanks for the input guys. It is nice to know that it was just a liability/risk mitigation disclaimer and not a they are horrible and break stuff disclaimer.

I think we're pretty awesome, but I'm a little biased.

If you have have any questions about a getting an APR flash done, or about anything else just let me know.

Agreed. They've done all the work on my car and I've had no complaints. I had one minor issue after a clutch install - they sent a flatbed to DC to tow my car back to Lorton and fixed it that day. Drop off/pick-up from metro - can't beat that either.

Please STFU.....Ha! Kidding man, but they're good people. I got stage 1 on my mk6 gti just 2 weeks ago, and they couldn't have been better or more hassle free.

Benji was my contact through the whole process and I'm definitely happy with the results. A lot of the guys that go to my weekly meet have the apr flash from NGP as well, and there aren't any complaints. One guy got his KO4 installed at NGP recently, and no problems either.

I'm headed up that way tomorrow morning. I've been chatting with Brad through email to figure out when it wouldn't absolutely suck to squeeze me in.

Thanks for being so flexible, so far you all rock \m/

This time tomorrow I'll be enjoying a sweet Stg 1 GTI

That was me for the first two years, and I am telling you. That is the best money I have ever spent--EVER.

The car is a whole new experience, and everything that you have read about the tune is absolutely true.

A buddy of mine has an Evo X with nearly 400 AWHP. I took him for a spin and he was really impressed (it isn't the same obnoxious kind of power, but the evo has a much larger turbo than our cars).

PM me if you have any specific questions.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, if NGP were a woman, I would take her out to a nice steak dinner and then afterwards, make sweet, sweet love to her by the fire. We would, of course, spoon afterwards, talk about life experiences and goals and then in the morning, I would make her tea and toast and drive her home only after spending the day in the park under a big oak tree.

Both NGP shops are excellent and very professional. MY 06 GLI was built by the Lorton shop and now maintained by the Aberdeen shop. Both shops are very professional and service quality is second to none. My 06 GLI is APR stage 3 and is pushing close to 400 HP ... fast and gets great gas mileage too. After 4 years ... still very strong and dependable. Thanks NGP for building me a dream ride I love and enjoy each time I take her out. These guys at NGP are professionals and quality is the best if not the best ... thanks again to both NGP shops!
APR tuned... Bilsteins coilovers, Oettingers 19s/ Trackstar 5 18's, JVC and JL audio, APR 3" exhaust, APR intercooler, ECU, intake, etc. Falkens/Yokohamas. Serviced and maintained by NGP.

I missed at least 2-3 sale periods by being on the fence (scared of warranty issues mainly). But it would happen that you are in luck because the great thing is there should be another one this fall time!

I wouldn't wait much longer than that though, never know if the Mayan end of the world prophecies will come true or not.

At the very least you can use that as an excuse to finally pull the trigger

Also you get the pleasure of interacting with the NGP employees
