240 km/h between cars? There's nothing he could've done, if someone had decided to change lanes. So I guess he was ready to die that day...

Here some guy did like 240 in traffic some years ago and posted it online. The police saw the video and contacted the owners of the cars that the guy passed on the video. Tips from the car drivers led the police to the motorcyclist who got prosecuted and fined heavily and also lost his license.

It's not the machine. It's the person using it.

I have a feeling that with the way he is riding he will be in a pine box before he gets put behind bars. I actually think that it is sad because he really cant value his life riding like that. He is putting his life in the other motorists' hands to make proper decisions, which is a very bad idea.

Still, it's the fact that these bikes have ridiculous amounts of power for the road and that they're so affordable that pretty much any idiot can afford one that makes these kind of occurrences not that rare.

If you daily drive a Ferrari, you're guaranteed to drive it at idiotic speeds at some point. Now, make Ferraris affordable and the amount of idiots on the road will go thru the roof.

What I'm trying to say here is that it requires too much self-control to use these things within the limits of the road laws. IMO crotch rockets should somehow be limited when used on the street. Yes, I know, call me a commie, but I VERY RARELY see any crotch rocket rider actually obeying speed limits and it's getting friggin annoying.

It's not even about other motorists proper decisions. He's a tiny dot in your rear view mirror when you start to change lanes. You might not even have noticed him or if you have, you're thinking he's so far away that there's plenty of time for you to change your lane. And BOOM, he hits the side of your car. He's basing e.g. his decisions on his speed and passes on the assumption that the other cars will stay on their lanes. If something unexpected happens, he'll probably have time to register the event but not to brake to avoid the hit.

Take it to the track where a loose stone or piece of truck tire is less likely to end your life.

Videos like these are why I don't own a bike, even though I fantasize about it constantly. I know I don't have the self control to drive anywhere near the speed limit.

That bike is limited. To 300km/h(that's why the speedometer will not reach 300).

As for your second point, with the ferrari, you are an asshat. Every vehicle made today can go 100mph. Does every vehicle drive at 100mph? No. By your logic, every vehicle will be driving at its top speed at all times. They don't.

The fastest I have had my bike was at the dragstrip(135mph). Other than that, I ride at normal sane speeds.

Did anyone else dodge or move while watching that, cause I did.

Although at about :20 up to :40 or so you can get a good feel for traffic patterns. I won't say the whole left lane camper thing but yes I'm alluding to it.

Easy way to get yourself killed. I second the comment about these things being a suicide machine. One wrong move by him or one unexpected move by another driver and it's game over. Yes, it's cool, but the guy is a ****ing idiot.

    OK, still not very limited.

As for your second point, with the ferrari, you are an asshat.
Did I attack you personally to get called "an asshat"? Sorry if I did.
Every vehicle made today can go 100mph. Does every vehicle drive at 100mph? No.
And that is because there's rarely enough space/time to reach the speed. A Ferrari accelerates much faster than your average vehicle, you know... And a crotch rocket bike accelerates even faster.

It really did look like the cars were stopped as he passed. I understand that's what happens when he's doing three-four times their speed. As a motorcyclist, I can honestly say I would never have the balls to try something like that, even alone on a track.

Suicide implies you're TRYING to kill yourself. I think sport bike riders (including myself) do tons of stupid things, but the intent is never to kill yourself. It's to have a good time. This isn't some EMO cutting himself in the bathtub.
