Thread: Intermittent fault affecting wipers and indicators

  1. 04-18-2012 07:08 AM #1
    Hi,
I have a Mk4 Golf Tdi which has developed a fault that affects the wipers and indicators simultaneously. Basically, without any known reason the wiper and indicator function will cease for varying lengths of time at what appears to completely random intervals. The normal function resumes and I can see again and also give others some idea of where I am intending to go next! Not so bad in the dry weather but now its raining not too good!
If any one has experience of this or knows what causes the problem could you let me know?

    Many thanks,

    Denzil

Here is a really silly question. Does your vent/ac stay onn until you turn your headlights off? When I had my HID retrofits put in, I crossed a couple of wires in the wiring harness for the low/high beams and ended up with my windshield wipers and vent running after the ignition was turned off until you turned off the headlights. This only happen if I had the wipers or vent on with the headlights.
