We've been good for a while now so I think it's time we can get this thread back. Just please keep it on topic and hopefully the mods can work with us by letting it stay.

I'll start off drove my MKVI to school.

Swapped the snow tires back to the normal ones. Been lazy the last few weeks and had the day off, so I finally got it done.

Both are awesome. V2 is great and the new short shifter is a nice subtle difference but at the same times feels like a huge one. Shifts are a lot tighter and feel better. Shorter as well.

Yeap, install is cake. Remove intake and putting on the actual SS is a 3 minute job. Then put the intake back on and enjoy a beer.

    Sounds too easy. Haha.

Also reset my TPMS system today. But that's a given with the tire swap.

It was. Hardest thing was taking off the intake and even that was simple.

He's the only one that seems to have issues with it. Poor little fellow.

It's a DSG (or automatic on the non-DSG) thing. Pop the pedal all the way down and there's a slight detent. Press through the detent and it kicks the transmission into the lowest possible gear for the speed you're at.

UGH. I'm 3K away from my DSG service. My dealer sent me a 10% coupon off any service over $300. Dickheads. I'm gonna haggle them down a little bit. They want $370 I think.

Working out a $200 smog check for Saturday and until then tracking my ECS goodies as they travel from Ohio. Saturday night should be a night full of MKVI maintenance and beer drinking. Anyone who wants to join in feel free to stop by.

BOT: Tomorrow I'll be changing the oil. At 25k now and the 10k intervals never sat well with me. Every 5k sits better with me.

I do ~5K on my car. 3K is overkill and 10K is stupid. New BMWs are 15K intervals...

Not even kidding. House is always open to fellow dubbers. Must be a non-smoker and a beer drinker though. Oh and no vegetarians.

Also going through color swatches for my wheel powder coating.

Most BMW's are. My E46 is 15k via the dash computer, but it "adapts" to your driving style. Mine sees track time fairly regularly, so the actual computer interval is around 7-8k. Still change it every 5k though with dealer oil and filter, just like my Mk.6.

But yeah, 3k is overkill with VW 504spec synthetic oil and OE filter.
