no bueno bro. sorry to hear that. happened to me, but i got lucky and it was patchable...been happy for 6k miles now...but i'm getting my wheels soon w/ new tires so no matter.

but if its that low, you might be in for a new tire...or set...which kinda blows. sorry man.

well it has felt a llittle low for a few days now. I refilled it and an hour later there was no change on the gauge. so its a really slow leak probably about 2-5 psi a day.

good thing is have a quick connect to the air tank and can just refill it when needed til i can find the time to go get the tire patched. its dead center to a brand new tire too...

Opened up my carbonio and cleaned out all the dead bugs from my road trip to California last month. Cleaned up the engine bay a bit too while I was at it.

I was bored today so I decided to black out the front of my car with plasti-dip. I took every piece apart and painted it separately. I only painted the red strips (PITA to get out), gti badge, and front VW badge.

      Here are a few pictures.

How difficult were the strips to remove? Thinking about painting mine black as well. Looks good btw

i intend to keep OEM rear rotors, and just get pads for the back. my dumbass ordered the wrong rear pads. and then ill be doing the fluid flush on friday, and ill probably do the tyrol brake stiffening kit as well.

btw, sales should start in the fall-time or so (?)

ill be K04ing w/ stg2 cluth and s3 intercooler in october, so i'd like to get the brakes done asap! and sway bars soon too i guess.
Hmm, if sales are in the fall, don't think I'll be able to wait that long for the tune!

Back to the brakes though...I'd think keeping the OEM rear rotors should be fine for your K04 upgrade once you get the better pads back there. Guess I'll definitely be looking at getting some of those front rotors/pads after the tune and rear swaybar install. Keep us updated on the new brakes as you get the new pad/put some more miles in.

Need to order clutch. If kinks are all worked out on the silent design I'll get that. Anyone know if theres a way to tell if I'm getting the newest revised version? I'd assume that by now all the early versions are off the shelves but I wanna make sure ya know?

ebc doesnt make rear rotors for the mk6 gti, so im waiting on slotted ecs rotors, and then ill get new pads then too. it doesnt matter for looks imo, the black coating on the ebc rotors wore off when i bedded the pads after the install, so the silver ecs ones wont change how it looks. can't wait to get the rear done. i was so mad to find out the ebc didnt fit today, and i was dumb and got the wrong rear pads lol. so i sold them to my friend to use on his mk5 jetta 2.0t, so he only needs to buy rotors and front pads now.
looks awesome dude! brakes are always a mod

The strips are annoying as hell cause there are a lot of plastic clips holding it in, and you have to pretty much pull every piece of the grill apart to get the top strips out. Be careful too. They seem pretty fragile.

I don't have a pic but there's one showing the older version and the disc itself has 6 black springs on the hub. If you look they don't have much "seating" to the hub as some other clutches that you see for other cars etc. I'm not sure if they are changing the color of the springs but the actually seat should be more pronounced and you'll be able to tell the difference. I hope that makes sense I'll see if I can scrounge up that pic I'm taling about if you need me to.

^ also regarding the southbend clutch, I think if you order from DBC performance the clutch is shipped to you straight from southbend so it should be the "latest" revision from them.
