[Dumpster Edition]

So I guess it's my turn to make a build thread I suppose.

I guess I could give you guys a bit of a prologue before hand. I've owned THIS mk3 for close to 2 years now. I had a black VR before this one that got totaled by a drunk chick (You may remember the story It's pretty funny) I have been working on this one for a bit of time now, and wanted to make the big jump I needed finally..... So I did... And this is the page for it.



It started as this (The day I bought it)




Coils, some interior, and boredom later, it was this:





Then right before SoWo 2011 I threw on the Vento grill, lights, different bumper lights, and I was one of maybe 3 people on the East Coast to have a brand new set of Enkei 92s MONTHS before anyone else.






After SoWo sold the wheels to one of my boys in Bama (Yardley) picked up his set of 16x9 Schmidts and rocked those for a while. Also deleted the rear spoiler.





Then popped a little camber in the rear







Quickly got tired of the Schmidts, I love the wheels in all, but I needed something different. Ended up picking up some ESM 009Rs.






Now onto the initial build. The entire premise of this was to get it done for SoWo this year. With the help of my best friend Dario (SlowVRT) and A LOT of long nights, I think it will be awesome! First off, the goodies:




So we were so excited that we just couldn't wait, and Dario prepped and shot the under side of my new trunk I purchased (For $32.50 from the dealership, I might add)

Here were the results. By the way, this is NO WETSANDING. There isnt really a need when it's going to be covered by the OEM carpet.

When we got the paint ordered they asked him wether or not he wanted more or less pearl in it. WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK OUR ANSWER WAS!?!?!


You can tell the amount of pearl in this shot really well:










So I dropped the car off to him at his place Tuesday morning, and I after work I stopped by to help out and this is what he already had done.



I had A LOT of clear coat issues on this car along the top section (As a lot of mk3s do)












After I got there, we finished up feathering the crispy clearcoat from BOTH sides of the car and Dario finished up the other seam.

This is how bad the clear coat was on the top sections of the car. GET TO WORK!!





Dario was welding up the seam while I was taping the seals down to get clearance for wet sanding.

So while I was at work Dario went ahead and finalized what we had done, and shot some primer on all of it to block down and see what our next move was:









So far so good. We will continue to update this build as it goes. Less than 28 days away to have it all done! I could use all of your motivation as well! Thanks for checking guys!

Dude, TOO BUSY bit that's good. Lol. I'm at lunch right now just trying to relax for a minute. After work, its back to the jetta to finish up some of the side work with Dario. More updates tonight!!!
