I got tired of the garage door opener on the visor and sadly do not possess the skills to do the wired-in factory style button on the console so I "cheated". College Hills Honda sells a converted-to-battery homelink unit for the '08-12 Accord. I ordered it planning on mounting it in the roof console recess in my Jetta S but it was slightly oversized and I did not want to butcher it or my car too badly. Instead I yanked off the fuse box cover, cut a rectangular opening in it and popped the homelink unit right in. Then I used double-sided tape to secure the battery holder, popped the cover back onto the dash and had homelink in under 30 minutes. Okay, lazy for sure, but it works, it is accessible yet not in plain sight, and my visor has one less thing hanging on it

What do you mean you don't have the skills to do the console button? It's just as hard as what you did lol. I could have made you a stealth switch or even the entire unit using a garage opener if you sent me it.

Lets see some pics of your handy work.

Jettsy, I'm surprised... The fusebox cover is not an expensive item, I figured wtf, why not? I am very pleased with the result and it is far easier to reach on the dash than under the seat. Besides, I have the underseat drawers on both sides...
