Turbo the American Bulldog

I was a little bored so I thought I would share my American Bulldog with everyone. His name is Turbo and he is a 6 month old, Hybrid type, American Bulldog with NKC registration. His parents were from litters from Olde Kountry Kennels in NC and the two owners decided to breed their dogs together. He is very friendly and is a fairly quick learner. He had the concept of potty training down with in the first week of owning him (but of course there have been a few accidents). He has been raised on Blue Buffalo Wilderness Puppy Food (we were originally going to do the B.A.R.F. diet but it was too demanding). Our future plans are to breed a couple litters out of him, when he is much older, if we can get a demand for the puppies. We wouldn't be doing it just for the money (although we would require a stud fee etc). I plan to continue to post pictures and stories and he grows to this thread. Here are some pictures of him as he has grown with us.

Hmm you may have just help me figure out what my Tiny Pitbull is, or at least mixed with. How big is he expected to get? Is he full AB?

My dog is a purebred AB. His dad is around 100 lb and I think his mother his between 60-70lbs. I am hoping he turns out more like his father. Here is a picture of his parents next to each other



If I had to guess I would say your dog possibly has some kind of terrier in it but don't quote me.

Yeah I know there is terrier in there somewhere keeping her small in size and would explain her snout length. Body length and stature though looks more AB. She doesn't have the barrel chest my Am Staff does or our friend's APBT. Looks like its time for a DNA test.

Just a note on the DNA subject: They tend to be incredibly inaccurate when it comes to identifying mixes. You are almost better off having someone experienced tell you by physical traits.

Im not looking at it for pure fact just hoping to shed some light. If I had to guess based on personality, shape, markings and energy levels I would say Jack Russel and AB. We shall see I guess.

At 9 months he doesn't seem to be growing much anymore. I was really hoping he would get much larger. At 7 months he went to the vet for his last shots and he weighed in at 52lbs. I would say that he is around 60-65lbs now. He probably only has another 3 months of growing left in him so I am hoping he will have a random growth spurt.

As of yesterday Turbo is now 11 months old. Can't believe how fast time has gone by. I was looking at some pictures of his dad earlier and he seems to be right in line with his father. Apparently his dad hit another growth spurt between 1 year and 1.5 years so that would be real interesting.
